Key Responsibilities

Identify and pursue fabrication contract opportunities for our yard in Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind (platforms, jackets, modules, wind substation structures, and similar). The role is based out of the Mumbai HO with frequent travel to the yard, client sites, and industry events.

Track tenders, capex announcements, and project pipelines across O&G; and wind, and prioritize them against what our yard can realistically build.

Build and maintain relationships with EPC contractors, OEMs, developers, and PMC consultants including global O&G; and wind EPC players to generate qualified leads and repeat business.

Own the bid cycle end-to-end proposal development, RFQ/RFP responses, technical-commercial write-ups, and client presentations — working with Estimation for costing inputs and Engineering for technical inputs.

Negotiate commercial terms alongside the Contracts & Commercial team, covering pricing structure, payment terms, and risk allocation through to closure.

Coordinate closely with Operations and Engineering throughout the sales cycle to ensure client commitments match actual yard capacity, fabrication capability, berth/load-out constraints, and delivery timelines.

Maintain a live chance pipeline/tracker with win-probability assessment, and report on it regularly to management.

Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions, and client meetings to build market visibility and relationships.

Track competitor activity and market pricing trends in O&G; and wind fabrication to inform bid strategy.

Prepare loss-analysis reports for unsuccessful bids, covering competitor pricing,

technical gaps, and client feedback, and present findings to management for course correction.

What We're Looking For

Engineering degree (Mechanical/Civil/Marine preferred); MBA or equivalent in Sales/Marketing is a plus.

12–15 years of solid Business Development experience in Oil & Gas, Offshore Wind, or Heavy Fabrication/EPC.

Must have worked at a company that operates its own fabrication yard — this role needs someone who understands yard operations and constraints firsthand, not someone whose experience is limited to trading or agency-style BD.

A strong track record of closing fabrication contracts, ideally with EPC majors, OEMs, or wind developers.

Solid understanding of how fabrication projects move from bid to contract — commercial structures, risk allocation, and delivery constraints.

Working knowledge of shore cranes (specs, key players, or procurement) is preferred but not mandatory.

Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Willing to travel frequently for client meetings, yard visits, and industry events, while based out of the Mumbai HO.

Good to Have

Existing connections with global Oil & Gas EPC or Offshore Wind EPC companies — a strong added advantage.

Previous BD or client-facing role at a fabrication yard or shipyard (own facility, not subcontracted-out work).

Existing network in Oil & Gas EPCs, Offshore Wind developers/OEMs, Port & Terminal operators, or other fabrication yards.

Comfortable working cross-functionally with Contracts, Estimation, and Operations across HO and yard locations.
