About the Role

Nexal IIT is seeking a Machine Learning Intern to support machine learning model development, data preprocessing, model evaluation, and data-driven solution development.

The selected intern will work on assigned machine learning tasks and projects under the guidance of the team. This opportunity is intended for candidates who want to develop practical experience in applying machine learning concepts to real-world datasets and business problems.

Key Responsibilities

- Collect, clean, preprocess, and prepare datasets for machine learning projects.
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and relationships.
- Assist in selecting appropriate machine learning algorithms for different problems.
- Develop, train, test, and evaluate basic machine learning models.
- Work with supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
- Perform feature engineering and feature selection where appropriate.
- Evaluate model performance using relevant metrics and validation techniques.
- Assist in improving model performance through parameter tuning and optimization.
- Use Python and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib, and Seaborn.
- Create visualizations and reports to communicate model results and insights.
- Document experiments, methodologies, assumptions, results, and findings.
- Assist with machine learning projects and data-driven solutions under team guidance.

Requirements

- Basic understanding of Machine Learning concepts.
- Familiarity with Python programming.
- Basic knowledge of statistics and probability.




- Understanding of fundamental supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms.
- Familiarity with Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of data preprocessing and feature engineering.
- Understanding of model evaluation metrics is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Matplotlib or Seaborn for data visualization is preferred.
- Basic understanding of SQL is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Generative AI or deep learning concepts is a plus.
- Positive analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and work on assigned machine learning tasks.
