GLS is looking for a Litigation Manager with strong expertise in Tax Laws, Tax Litigation, and Legal Drafting. The candidate will work closely with Partners and clients on tax-related litigation matters, legal documentation, case preparation, appeals, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate should have excellent professional communication skills, strong legal research and drafting capabilities, and the ability to independently manage documentation and coordinate with clients and internal teams. The role provides comprehensive exposure to multiple practice areas and statutes.

Key Responsibilities

- Work closely with Partners to develop legal arguments, case strategies, and case filings.
- Review case-related documentation and coordinate with clients to obtain and complete the required documents.
- Draft replies to notices and show-cause notices issued by tax and regulatory authorities.
- Prepare legal opinions and responses to client queries relating to tax and legal matters.
- Attend personal hearings before adjudicating and appellate authorities.
- Draft additional submissions, written submissions, and supporting documentation wherever required.
- Draft appeal memos against unfavourable orders passed by tax authorities.
- Prepare appeal files and coordinate their filing with the concerned authorities and Tribunals.
- Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents, agreements, and contracts.
- Conduct legal and tax research and keep abreast of changes in laws, regulations, notifications, circulars, and government guidelines.
- Assist Partners and clients in understanding and complying with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to newsletters, articles, technical updates, and other knowledge-sharing publications issued by the firm.
- Maintain organized case records, documentation, and litigation-related reports.
- Coordinate effectively with clients, Partners, internal teams, and relevant authorities.

Qualifications & Experience Candidates with any of the following backgrounds may be considered:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) or CA Intern.
- Lawyer / Advocate or Law Intern with relevant experience working under a lawyer or in a law firm.
- Graduate with relevant experience in the tax or legal industry.
- 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in tax, legal, or litigation-related work.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in tax litigation will be preferred.

Preferred Experience Preference will be given to candidates who have practical experience in:

- Tax litigation and dispute resolution.
- Drafting replies to tax notices and show-cause notices.
- Preparing appeals against tax orders.
- Appearing before adjudicating or appellate authorities.
- Preparing legal opinions and written submissions.
- Tax and legal research.
- Client coordination and case documentation.
