Job Summary

We are hiring a Legal Officer for our FIU-registered Crypto / Virtual Digital Asset business to manage legal, regulatory, and enforcement-related matters.

The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end handling of bank lien, debit freeze, cyber freeze, law enforcement notices, and regulatory communications, including physical visits to banks, cyber crime offices, and government departments whenever required.

The role requires strong knowledge of Indian legal procedures, banking regulations, cyber crime process, and financial compliance laws.

Core Responsibilities

1. Bank Lien / Freeze / Cyber Freeze Handling

- Handle bank lien / debit freeze / account freeze / cyber freeze cases end-to-end
- Coordinate with:
- Banks / Nodal Officers
- Cyber Crime Police Stations
- Law Enforcement Agencies
- FIU-India / Regulatory authorities
- Payment partners / Banking partners
- Prepare and submit:
- Legal letters
- Undertakings
- Representations
- Replies to notices
- Case explanations
- Follow up until lien / freeze removal is completed
- Maintain proper case tracker and documentation

2. Legal & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with:
- FIU-India guidelines
- PMLA Act
- AML / KYC regulations




- IT Act
- Fintech / VDA / Crypto related rules
- Assist in regulatory audits and inspections
- Support internal compliance team
- Draft legal policies and agreements

3. Contract & Documentation

- Draft / review:
- Agreements
- NDAs
- Vendor contracts
- User policies
- Terms & Conditions
- Privacy Policy
- Risk disclosure documents
- Maintain legal records and registers

4. Enforcement & Authority Coordination

- Visit physically when required to:
- Banks
- Cyber Crime offices
- Police stations
- Government departments
- Courts / Legal offices
- Handle urgent freeze / investigation cases
- Represent company for legal clarification

5. Travel Requirement (Mandatory)

- Candidate must be ready to travel anytime for:
- Lien removal
- Freeze resolution
- Legal follow-ups
- Authority meetings
- Travel may be required across India.

Mandatory Qualification

- LLB / LLM completed (Compulsory)
- Strong knowledge of Indian legal procedures
- Knowledge of banking / cyber / financial cases preferred
- Good legal drafting skills
- Ability to handle pressure / urgent cases
- Willing to travel frequently

Preferred Experience

- Crypto Exchange / Fintech / NBFC / Banking / Payment company
- Experience in lien / freeze / cyber complaint handling
- Knowledge of FIU-India compliance
- Knowledge of PMLA / AML / KYC
- Experience dealing with police / bank legal teams
