Position: Learning Support Teacher – Kindergarten

Department: Kindergarten / Early Years

Location: Birla Open Minds International School, Chennai Ambattur Athipet

Job Summary The Learning Support Teacher will work closely with KG students and the class teacher to provide individual and small-group support, encourage learning and development, and create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support KG students in their academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs.

Assist the class teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities.

Provide additional support to children who require help with classroom learning or participation.

Observe students and communicate relevant observations to the class teacher and coordinator.

Encourage children to develop communication, social, motor, and self-help skills.

Assist students during classroom activities, worksheets, projects, and play-based learning.

Help maintain a safe, clean, and child-friendly classroom environment.





Support classroom routines, transitions, meals, and other daily activities as required.

Build positive and respectful relationships with children.

Coordinate with teachers and school staff to ensure the overall well-being of students.

Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.

Skills & Qualifications

Graduate degree; Early Childhood Education / Montessori / NTT qualification preferred.

Prior experience working with KG or early-years children is preferred.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Patient, caring, and approachable personality.

Ability to work collaboratively with the class teacher and school team.

Basic knowledge of child development and classroom management.
