Educational Qualifications

LL.B. from a recognized university. LL.M. will be an added advantage.

Experiences and Skills

Preferred Experience

- Experience in legal functions preferably mining, mineral development, metals, steel, coal, iron ore, natural resources, or infrastructure or allied sectors. Experience in mining sector shall be preferred and will be considered a significant advantage.
- Sound understanding of:

MMDR Act

Mineral Concession Rules

Mining lease regulations

Forest & Setting clearances

Land acquisition issues

Mine development and operations

Royalty, DMF, NMET and related regulatory issues

State mining regulatory framework

Skills

The candidate should possess the maturity and capability to function as the second line of leadership within the Legal Department, independently managing complex legal issues, supervising team members, and effectively engaging with senior management, external counsel,



regulatory authorities and other key stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to exercise sound legal judgment and make balanced risk-based recommendations under tight timelines and business pressures.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution Management

Legal Due Diligence relating to New Projects

Prepare concise legal opinions, briefing notes and strategy papers for senior management.

Strategic Legal Advisory-

- Experience in interfacing with Mining, Forest, Environment, Revenue and other Government authorities in relation to operational and regulatory matters.
