Junior Associate – Fundraising & Investor Relations

GreenMentor is a full-stack, app-native ESG company helping organisations navigate their ESG, sustainability, carbon and compliance requirements through technology, advisory and education.
We are a growing startup working at the intersection of ESG, sustainability, technology and business. We are looking for a highly motivated junior person to join our team and work closely with the founder.
About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Associate – Fundraising & Investor Relations to support and execute our fundraising activities across multiple channels.
This is a full time, in-house role based out of our office in MIDC ANDHERI EAST, Mumbai. The person will work closely with the founder and the core team.
We are specifically looking for a junior candidate who is hungry to learn, highly organised, excellent at research and writing, and willing to take ownership of execution.
Your primary responsibility will be to help us identify and pursue relevant funding opportunities and ensure that the entire process—from identifying an opportunity to submitting the application and following up—is properly managed.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Opportunity Research
Identify relevant VC and PE investors, angel investors, impact funds and family offices.
Research grants, government funding schemes, CSR programmes and international funding opportunities.
Identify accelerators, incubators, startup competitions and other funding programmes.
Research eligibility, ticket sizes, investment thesis, deadlines and application requirements.
Build and maintain a comprehensive fundraising database.
Applications & Proposals
Prepare and submit investor, grant, accelerator and funding applications.
Draft application responses, proposals, company profiles and supporting documents.
Coordinate internally to collect information required for applications.
Ensure applications are complete, accurate and submitted on time.
Adapt our company information and fundraising narrative for different opportunities.
Investor Research & Outreach
Research potential investors and understand their investment thesis and portfolio.
Build targeted investor lists.
Assist in preparing personalised investor outreach.
Track responses, meetings, follow-ups and next steps.
Support the founder before and after investor meetings.
Fundraising Readiness
Help maintain our pitch deck, investor materials, financial information and company documentation.
Maintain an organised fundraising data room.
Identify gaps in our fundraising materials and help get them ready.
Prepare investor briefs and research before meetings.
Keep all information required for fundraising readily accessible.
Pipeline & Follow-ups
Maintain a live fundraising tracker/CRM.
Track every investor, grant and funding opportunity from discovery to outcome.
Ensure deadlines are never missed.
Maintain a disciplined follow-up process.
Provide regular updates to the founder on the fundraising pipeline.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for a junior person, ideally with 0–2 years of experience.
Freshers with exceptional research, writing and execution skills are welcome to apply.
You should be
Extremely proactive and willing to learn.
Excellent at internet research.
Strong at written and spoken English.
Very organised and detail-oriented.
Comfortable with Google Sheets, Docs and presentations.
Good at writing and structuring information.
Comfortable communicating with senior people and external organisations.
Someone who follows up relentlessly and does not let things fall through the cracks.
Comfortable working directly with a founder in a fast-moving startup.
Interested in startups,
business, ESG, sustainability, finance or investing.
It Would Be a Plus If You Have
Exposure to startups or fundraising.
Experience with grant applications.
Experience researching VC/PE investors.
Consulting or business research experience.
Experience with accelerators/incubators.
Exposure to ESG, sustainability or climate.
Finance or investment-related knowledge.
What We Expect From You
This is not a passive research or data-entry role.
We want someone who can take an prospect and drive it forward.
For example
“I found this funding opportunity → checked that we qualify → researched what is required → collected the information → prepared the application → got it reviewed → submitted it → scheduled the follow-up → tracked the outcome.”
You will be expected to gradually take ownership of this entire process.

Location & Work Arrangement
Full-time | In-house | Mohar, Mumbai
This is an in-office role. The candidate will be expected to work from the GreenMentor office in Mohar, Mumbai, and work closely with the founder and core team.
Compensation
₹25,000–30,000 per month (~$290–350/month) depending on experience and capability.
Performance-based incentives may be provided based on meaningful fundraising and execution milestones.
