Job Summary The Senior Billing Engineer is responsible for managing end-to-end billing operations across multiple construction projects. This includes client billing, subcontractor billing, quantity verification, and financial documentation. The role ensures accurate and timely invoicing in line with contract terms, while coordinating with project teams, consultants, and contractors to support the commercial success of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Billing
- Prepare and review monthly client invoices based on project progress and contractual terms
- Ensure accurate billing as per BOQ, drawings, and work completion status
- Coordinate with clients and consultants for bill certification and approvals
- Quantity Verification Measurement
- Verify executed quantities in office against BOQs and drawings
- Ensure proper measurement records and documentation
- Coordinate with site teams for progress updates and work completion certificates
- Subcontractor Billing
- Manage subcontractor billing processes, including verification and certification
- Reconcile subcontractor bills with executed work and contract terms
- Track and resolve discrepancies in billing
- Documentation Reporting
- Maintain billing registers, logs, and aging reports
- Track receivables, payment status, and collections
- Prepare MIS reports for management review
- Coordination Communication
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams
- Ensure timely submission and approval of bills
- Maintain proper records of billing communications and approvals
- Compliance Audit
- Ensure billing processes comply with company policies and contract conditions
- Support internal and external audits with required documentation
- Maintain proper documentation for financial and statutory compliance
Key Skills Competencies
- Strong knowledge of billing processes in construction projects
- Understanding of BOQ, measurement sheets, and contract conditions
- Familiarity with FIDIC / government contracts / standard clauses
- Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced), AutoCAD, and billing software
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering
Preferred Experience
- Experience in residential, commercial, or high-rise projects
- Exposure to client billing and subcontractor billing simultaneously
- Experience handling multiple projects and large billing volumes

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech – Civil)
- Diploma in Civil Engineering (acceptable with relevant experience)
Experience
- 3–4 years of experience in billing and estimation in real estate/construction projects
- Experience in handling contractor billing and client billing preferred
