Role Description The Journalism Intern role at NT WestBengal is a full-time remote position focused on supporting news production and editorial activities. Day-to-day tasks include researching current events and topics, drafting news articles and features, and assisting with press release preparation and distribution. The intern will help monitor news sources, verify information, and collaborate with editors to refine stories for publication.

Responsibilities also include maintaining clear communication with the editorial team, adhering to deadlines, and following organizational guidelines and ethical standards.



This role provides hands-on experience in digital journalism and offers mentorship from experienced media professionals.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Writing and News Writing skills, with the ability to produce transparent, accurate, and engaging content.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, including the ability to coordinate with editors and team members in a remote environment.
- Candidates should possess Research skills to gather, verify, and synthesize information from multiple sources.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with Press Releases, including drafting, editing, and formatting for media distribution.
- Additional qualifications: attention to detail, strong ethical judgment, ability to meet deadlines, and interest in current affairs and regional news.
- Enrollment in or completion of a program in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Comfort with digital tools, online collaboration platforms, and basic content management systems is beneficial.
