We are looking for a skilled Java Developer to join our software engineering team and contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of business applications.
The ideal candidate will have strong Java programming fundamentals, experience working with databases and enterprise application frameworks, and the ability to investigate technical issues effectively. You will work with product, QA, and engineering teams to deliver reliable and maintainable software.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java and relevant enterprise frameworks.
- Translate business and technical requirements into practical software solutions.
- Build reusable and maintainable application components.
- Develop application services and integrations according to project requirements.
- Work with relational databases and implement efficient data-access solutions.
- Write clean, readable, and well-structured Java code.
- Analyze existing application functionality and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Troubleshoot application defects and production issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement sustainable fixes.
- Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards.
- Create and maintain unit tests for developed functionality.
- Collaborate with QA teams to resolve defects and improve application quality.
- Work with other engineering teams on application integrations and dependencies.
- Use Git or comparable version-control systems for source-code management.
- Participate in Agile development activities, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge-sharing activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–8 years of professional experience in Java development.
- Strong understanding of core Java programming concepts.
- Good knowledge of object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience with Java frameworks and enterprise application development.
- Good understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
- Experience debugging and troubleshooting software applications.
- Understanding of software development and testing practices.
- Familiarity with Git and team-oriented development workflows.
- Experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Spring or Spring Boot.
- Knowledge of RESTful web services.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
- Understanding of unit-testing frameworks such as JUnit.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerized deployments.
- Knowledge of application performance optimization.
- Experience working with enterprise-scale applications.
Development & Quality Expectations
- Follow clean-code and maintainability principles.
- Write appropriate automated tests for new functionality.
- Participate actively in peer code reviews.
- Identify potential technical risks before implementation.
- Work closely with QA to ensure features meet functional and technical expectations.
- Help improve application stability, reliability, and performance.
- Maintain appropriate technical documentation for developed components.
