Role & responsibilities

- Generate alpha. Own the portfolio's return against a blended market benchmark. Set the allocation view, identify what is underperforming, and act on it with a documented rationale for every call.
- Manage the advisors, don't be managed by them. The portfolio sits across multiple wealth managers. Hold each to net-of-fee realised performance, run look-through analysis before acting on any switch or exit list, and consolidate them into one coherent portfolio rather than a collection of separate mandates.
- Find the next prospect. Track market and asset-class trends. Source and diligence funds AIFs, PMS, structured products on net terms, real capacity and realised track record, not pitch decks.
- Prove the numbers independently. Compute IRR and reconcile against primary statements rather than accepting advisor summaries. Enforce the Investment Policy Statement and surface breaches as they happen.
- Build the machinery. Move monthly tracking off spreadsheets onto lightweight Python-based automation, so analysis time goes into decisions rather than data entry.





Preferred candidate profile

- 3–6 years in portfolio management, investment analysis, family office or fund research — with a view of your own, not just a reporting history
- Real command of return mathematics: XIRR, time- versus money-weighted returns, AIF accrual, NCD treatment, fee and carry drag
- Working Python (pandas). You should be able to parse a statement and reconcile it without waiting for anyone
- The judgment to distinguish gross from net and marked from realised — and the nerve to tell a senior person their number is wrong
- CFA, CA or MBA (Finance) preferred. AIF/PMS exposure a strong plus

What this is not Not a discretionary mandate — you recommend, the promoter and board decide. Not a dealing desk: execution and the operational tracker stay with a separate associate, deliberately, to preserve an independent check. Not a sales role — there are no assets to raise.
