Role & responsibilities

- Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for mechanical components. Assist in design changes and revisions.

- Support basic design of enclosures, brackets, frames, mounting systems and assist in pressure housing design under guidance.

- Assist in selecting materials, fasteners, bearings, seals and performing basic strength checks.

- Perform basic FEA simulations (static) with templates or supervised setups.

- Support sealing and O-ring groove design reviews; ensure correct tolerance and finish requirements.

- Participate in assembly, fit checks, and support integration trials.

- Support rapid prototyping (3D printing, machining coordination), perform dimensional checks and tolerance adjustments.

- Assist in field testing, water tank tests, and trials; gather observations and document issues.

- Work with Electrical and Software teams for integration and packaging checks.





- Document engineering work including drawings, BOMs, test reports, ECNs, and change logs.

- Participate in design reviews, incorporate feedback, and learn best practices from senior engineers.

- Support reliability improvements by reporting failures, assisting in RCA, and updating design changes.

Preferred candidate profile

- Internship/academic project experience in robotics, mechanisms, or marine systems.

- Robust knowledge of SolidWorks; CAD certification is a plus.

- Familiarity with underwater systems, rotating equipment, or pressure vessels is a bonus (not mandatory).

- Basic understanding of GD&T;, tolerance stack-ups, and mechanical drawings.

- Exposure to fabrication, machining, 3D printing, or hands- on prototyping.
