Role Description The Interior Drafter is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for preparing detailed drawings and plans for interior fit-out and manufacturing projects. Day-to-day activities include translating design concepts and sketches into accurate technical drawings, layouts, and construction documents using drafting and design software.

The role involves coordinating with designers, project managers, and production teams to ensure drawings are aligned with project requirements, material specifications, and site conditions.

The Interior

Drafter will update and revise drawings as needed, maintain drawing records, and support the smooth execution of commercial, residential, retail, and hospitality projects.



The position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to industry standards, and effective communication with on-site and office-based stakeholders.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in CAD and interior drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) and the ability to create precise plans, elevations, and detail drawings.
- Strong understanding of interior fit-out, joinery details, materials, and construction methods relevant to commercial, residential, retail, and hospitality projects.
- Ability to interpret architectural and interior design drawings, coordinate with design teams, and convert concepts into clear, buildable technical documents.
- Solid knowledge of measurement standards, basic building codes, and site coordination practices to ensure drawings are practical and compliant.
- Effective communication, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple drawing packages and meet project deadlines.
- Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field, with prior experience in interior drafting or fit-out projects preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or fit-out environment and familiarity with production drawings and shop drawings is an advantage.
