Interior Designer & Site Supervisor (Hybrid Role)

Location: Thane - on-site (Prabhadevi)/factory (Bhiwandi - Vadpe) /office (Mira Road. Project-based, 11th floor studio to start.

Why this role exists

We recently designed and executed a cricket based platform's 12th floor studio end-to-end - from concept to handover. This brand has now brought us back for their 11th floor studio, a significantly larger space, and we need to move fast without stretching our core team thin. We're looking for one person who can sit between design and execution: someone who understands a design intent well enough to translate it into a working BOM, and is equally comfortable standing on-site directing a carpenter or resolving a snag with a painter.

About Spaces And Between

Spaces And Between has a brand called Atom Seating and also engages in interior designing and execution of studios and cinemas. We don't just hand over drawings - we see projects through to the last coat of paint and the last fitted panel. Atom Seating has a factory in Bhiwandi from where they design and manufacture recliners for especially the export market, as well as domestic.

About the role

4-5 months in, this person will have to run the 11th floor project largely on their own - reading our design drawings and intent, building and managing the BOM, and being the daily on-ground presence that keeps carpenters, painters, and vendors moving to plan and to quality. Once that project closes out, there's a strong chance of continuing on with us into Atom Seating's design and execution project - so this is a role we see extending well beyond the first site.

What you'll do

Read and interpret design drawings, layouts, and material intent, and translate them into detailed, accurate

Bills of Materials (BOMs) and specifications.

Own day-to-day execution management on-site - planning sequencing, assigning work, and keeping carpenters, painters, and other trades aligned to the design and the schedule.





Track project timelines against plan, flag slippage early, and course-correct before delays compound.

Run quality checks against design intent - catching finish, alignment, and material issues before they turn into rework.

Source, coordinate, and negotiate with vendors and suppliers for materials and specialist work.

Be the primary point of contact in office, making sound day-to-day calls independently and looping in the core team only for real decisions.

Maintain site records - daily progress notes, material consumption, snag lists, and handover documentation.

What we're looking for

Required

2-4 years of experience in interior design or architecture, with real hands-on exposure to site execution - this isn't a design-desk-only role.

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret architectural/interior drawings, elevations, and sections.

Experience preparing BOMs and material specifications from design drawings.

Comfortable directly managing labour, carpenters, and painters on-site, day to day.

Strong on-ground problem-solving - able to make sound judgment calls without escalating every decision.

Based in or able to be on-site daily in Bengaluru for the duration of the project.

A degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.

Preferred

Prior experience taking a commercial or office interior project through full execution, start to finish.

Working familiarity with AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools for reading and marking up drawings.

Experience negotiating with vendors and tracking material costs against a BOM.
