Key Roles &
- Responsibilities
1. Import Operations
- Handle complete import documentation and shipment coordination.
- Coordinate with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, CHA/customs brokers, and transporters.
- Monitor shipment schedules and ensure timely clearance of imported materials.
- Track shipments from dispatch to delivery at the factory/warehouse.
- Verify shipping documents such as:
- Commercial Invoice
- Packing List
- Bill of Lading / Airway Bill
- Certificate of Origin
- Insurance Documents
- Bill of Entry
- Ensure proper classification of imported goods and availability of required documents.
1. Advance Authorization / Advance Licence Management
- Handle import activities against Advance Authorization issued under DGFT provisions.
- Maintain records of licenses, authorizations, quantities, values, and validity periods.
- Monitor license utilization and balance quantities.
- Coordinate for amendments, extensions, transfers, or other required actions related to Advance Authorization.
- Maintain proper documentation for duty-free imports under applicable authorizations.
- Coordinate with internal teams and consultants for license-related compliance.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of documents required for Export Obligation (EO) fulfillment and license closure.
1. Customs &
- Regulatory Compliance
- Coordinate with CHA/customs brokers for timely filing and clearance of import consignments.
- Ensure compliance with applicable customs, DGFT, and other statutory requirements.
- Review Bill of Entry details and duty calculations.
- Maintain records of customs duty payments, exemptions, and duty-free imports.
- Coordinate with finance for duty payments and related documentation.
1. Documentation &
- Record Management
- Maintain complete import files and shipment-wise documentation.
- Update import trackers, MIS reports, and license utilization records.
- Maintain records for audits and statutory inspections.
- Ensure timely submission of documents to internal departments and authorities.
1. Cost Control &
- Coordination
- Monitor freight, customs duty, clearing, transportation, and other import-related costs.
- Coordinate with procurement and finance departments for timely payment processing.
- Identify opportunities to reduce import clearance delays and logistics costs.
- Follow up with suppliers and service providers for pending documents.
Required Skills &
- Competencies
- Strong hands-on experience in end-to-end import operations.
- Knowledge of Advance Authorization / Advance Licence procedures.
- Good understanding of DGFT and Customs documentation.
- Experience in coordinating with CHA, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and overseas suppliers.
- Knowledge of import duty structure and exemption procedures.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Valuable knowledge of MS Excel and ERP systems.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple import shipments.
Educational Qualification
- Graduate in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- Diploma/Certification in EXIM, International Trade, or Logistics will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in Import / EXIM operations.
- Minimum hands-on experience in import documentation and customs clearance coordination.
- Experience in Advance Authorization / Advance Licence management is preferred.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
