Role Description The Hygiene Officer is responsible for overseeing and implementing hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards throughout the JW Marriott property in Bengaluru. This full time, on-site role involves conducting regular inspections of guest rooms, restaurants, kitchens, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with internal policies and local regulations.

The Hygiene

Officer monitors cleaning procedures, verifies proper usage and storage of chemicals, and collaborates with housekeeping, food and beverage, and engineering teams to address hygiene-related issues. The role includes maintaining documentation, supporting internal and external audits,



and providing training and guidance to associates on hygiene protocols.

Officer also responds to guest and stakeholder concerns related to cleanliness and safety, helping to maintain the brand’s luxury standards.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards in hospitality or a related industry.
- Candidates should possess skills in inspection, auditing, and documentation for compliance with local health regulations and brand policies.
- Candidates should possess the ability to train and coach team members on cleaning procedures, use of chemicals, and food safety practices.
- Candidates should possess effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to work with cross-functional hotel teams.
- Candidates should possess attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications in food safety, public health, or occupational health and safety are beneficial.
- Prior experience in hotel hygiene, quality assurance, or environmental health roles is preferred.
- A diploma or degree in hospitality management, environmental health, or a related field is an advantage.
