Title: Manager – Human Resources (Kolkata Unit)
Reporting To: General Manager – Kolkata Unit (Dotted Line to Corporate HR / CHRO)

Job Purpose The incumbent will be responsible for leading and managing the entire Human Resources function for the Kolkata Unit. The role will partner with business leaders to drive people strategies, talent acquisition, employee engagement, industrial and employee relations, compliance, learning & development, performance management, and HR operations. The position will ensure effective implementation of corporate HR policies and initiatives while supporting business objectives and fostering a positive workplace culture.
1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for all positions within the unit.
- Work closely with department heads to identify manpower requirements and workforce plans.
- Ensure timely closure of vacancies within approved timelines.
- Build talent pipelines for critical and recurring positions.
- Coordinate onboarding and induction of recent employees.
- Monitor recruitment metrics and hiring effectiveness.
2. Employee Relations & Industrial Relations
- Act as the primary HR contact for employee grievances and concerns.
- Ensure a positive employee relations environment through proactive interventions.
- Support disciplinary actions, domestic inquiries, and conflict resolution.
- Foster harmonious industrial relations and maintain constructive engagement with workmen and employee representatives.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, standing orders, and code of conduct.
3. Employee Engagement & Culture
- Drive employee engagement initiatives aligned with the annual engagement calendar.
- Organize recognition programs, celebrations, wellness initiatives, and fun-at-work activities.
- Conduct employee feedback sessions, skip-level meetings, and engagement surveys.
- Build a culture of collaboration, accountability,
and continuous improvement.
- Support implementation of Tata Values and organizational culture initiatives.
4. Performance Management & Talent Development
- Facilitate objective setting, mid-year and annual performance review processes.
- Support talent reviews, succession planning, and career development initiatives.
- Identify high-potential employees and developmental opportunities.
- Ensure timely closure of PMS activities and performance-related action plans.
5. Learning & Development
- Identify training needs in collaboration with functional heads.
- Prepare and monitor the annual training calendar.
- Coordinate leadership, behavioral, compliance, and functional training programs.
- Track training effectiveness and support capability-building initiatives.
6. HR Operations & Administration
- Ensure smooth execution of all employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, and separations.
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation as per statutory requirements.
- Oversee attendance, leave management, and employee data accuracy.
- Ensure timely completion of background verification and onboarding formalities.
- Drive digitization and adoption of HR systems and processes.
7. Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with labour laws and statutory requirements applicable to the unit.
- Coordinate inspections, audits, and statutory submissions.
- Maintain compliance records pertaining to Shops & Establishment, Factory Act, CLRA, POSH, gratuity, PF, ESI, and other applicable legislation.
- Ensure timely closure of compliance observations.

HR Analytics & Reporting
- Prepare and submit periodic HR dashboards and reports.
- Track key HR metrics including manpower, attrition, recruitment, absenteeism, training, engagement, and productivity indicators.
- Analyse trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Support management reviews through meaningful HR insights.
9. Stakeholder Management
- Partner closely with the General Manager and HODs to address people-related challenges.
- Act as a liaison between Corporate HR and the Kolkata Unit.
- Ensure effective communication and implementation of corporate HR initiatives.
- Support organizational transformation and change-management initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience
- MBA / Master's Degree in Human Resources or equivalent from a reputed institute.
- 12-14 years of progressive HR experience.
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience handling a manufacturing, catering, hospitality, aviation support services, or industrial workforce environment.
- Experience in employee relations, compliance management, talent acquisition, and HR operations.
- Exposure to industrial relations will be preferred.
