Position: Public Relations Officer (PRO)

Department: Operations / Marketing & Business Development

Reports To: Centre Manager / Clinic Head

Location: Medscape Clinic

Employment Type: Full-Time

1. Position Overview

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships between the clinic, patients, families, doctors, corporate clients, local communities, referral partners and other stakeholders. The role focuses on patient engagement, public relations, doctor coordination, community outreach, referral development, patient experience and business generation while ensuring that the clinic's brand image and service standards are consistently maintained.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Patient Relations & Engagement

- Welcome and assist patients and visitors professionally.
- Understand patient requirements and guide them to the appropriate clinic services.
- Coordinate patient appointments, consultations, diagnostics and follow-ups.
- Maintain regular communication with patients where required.
- Handle patient queries, feedback and service-related concerns.
- Coordinate with the clinical and front-office teams to resolve patient issues.
- Ensure a positive patient experience throughout the patient journey.
- Encourage appropriate follow-up visits and continuity of care.

B. Public Relations & Brand Promotion
- Represent the clinic professionally within the local community.
- Develop relationships with residents' associations, clubs, schools, colleges, companies and community organizations.
- Promote clinic services, health packages, preventive healthcare programs and medical camps.
- Coordinate community awareness programs and health-related activities.
- Support the clinic's reputation-building and brand-development initiatives.
- Collect and communicate positive patient feedback and testimonials in accordance with clinic policy.

C. Doctor & Specialist Coordination
- Coordinate with visiting consultants and specialists.
- Support specialist appointment generation and scheduling.
- Promote specialist clinics and specialty consultation programs.
- Maintain professional relationships with doctors and referral sources.
- Identify opportunities to increase specialty patient flow.

D. Referral & Business Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with referral doctors, clinics, hospitals and healthcare professionals.
- Generate appropriate patient referrals while strictly following ethical healthcare practices.
- Identify potential corporate and institutional healthcare tie-ups.
- Support corporate health check-ups,



camps and wellness programs.
- Track referral sources and patient conversion.
- Work with management to improve patient footfall and revenue.

E. Community Outreach
- Plan and execute local outreach activities.
- Coordinate medical camps, awareness programs and screening initiatives.
- Develop relationships with residential communities and local institutions.
- Identify opportunities for home-care, diagnostics, pharmacy and preventive-healthcare services.
- Participate in promotional activities conducted by the clinic.

F. Digital & Marketing Support
- Coordinate with the marketing team for campaigns and promotional activities.
- Support WhatsApp, social-media and local promotional initiatives.
- Provide information and content inputs for health campaigns.
- Coordinate distribution of brochures, promotional materials and clinic information.
- Monitor local market activities and competitor initiatives.

1. Daily Responsibilities

- Follow up on appointments and potential patients.
- Coordinate with doctors and clinic operations.
- Interact with patients and collect feedback.
- Contact referral sources and prospective patients.
- Promote ongoing campaigns, packages and specialist consultations.
- Maintain daily activity and patient-conversion records.
- Coordinate community and corporate outreach activities.
- Report important patient issues to the Centre Manager.
- Review daily patient footfall and identify opportunities for improvement.

1. Qualification & Experience

Preferred Qualification:

- Graduate in any discipline.
- Healthcare / Hospital Administration / Marketing qualification will be an advantage.

Experience:

- 1–3 years of experience in hospital, clinic, healthcare marketing, patient relations, business development or a similar role preferred.
- Candidates with strong local networking and communication skills may also be considered.

1. Professional Standards

The PRO shall:
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Follow clinic policies, SOPs and ethical healthcare practices.
- Avoid making medical claims or providing clinical advice beyond their role.
- Never make misleading promises regarding treatment, outcomes or services.
- Maintain professional conduct with patients, doctors and staff.
- Protect the reputation and brand image of the clinic.
- Escalate clinical complaints, emergencies and serious patient concerns immediately to the appropriate clinical authority.

1. Reporting & Documentation

The PRO shall maintain:
- Daily activity report.
- Patient enquiry and follow-up report.
- Referral-source report.
- Specialist appointment generation report.
- Corporate/outreach activity report.
- Medical camp activity report.
- Patient feedback and complaint report.
- Monthly KPI and performance report.

1. Authority & Escalation

The PRO may coordinate and communicate with patients, doctors, referral partners, corporates and community organizations within the authority delegated by management. Any matter involving clinical decisions, medical advice, patient safety, complaints of a serious nature, financial commitments, discounts outside approved limits or contractual commitments must be escalated to the Centre Manager / Clinic Head.

1. Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be a confident, energetic, well-connected and patient-focused skilled capable of developing strong relationships within the local community and converting those relationships into sustainable patient engagement and clinic growth. Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
