Yash Lasertek India Pvt. Ltd. is a sheet metal manufacturing and engineering company specializing in laser cutting, bending, welding, fabrication, powder coating, assembly and finished product integration .

Our products include fabricated base frames, compressor and genset canopies/enclosures, electrical cabinets, structural assemblies, construction equipment and portable light towers .

We are looking for a highly experienced and execution-driven Head – Supply Chain & Operations who will take complete ownership of the flow of material and production — from procurement and material inward through manufacturing, subcontracting, assembly and final dispatch to the customer .

Role Overview

This is not a conventional procurement or supply-chain position.

The Head – Supply Chain & Operations will be responsible for ensuring that the right material is purchased at the right price, received at the right time, converted according to the production plan and dispatched to the customer as committed .

The candidate will have end-to-end visibility and control over:

Purchase → Material Inward → Stores → Production Planning → Laser Cutting → Bending → Welding & Fabrication → Job Work/Subcontracting → Powder Coating → Assembly → Finished Goods → Dispatch The individual will report directly to the CEO and must have complete command over the company's operational status at any given point in time.

Key Responsibilities1. End-to-End Supply Chain Ownership

- Take complete ownership of the supply chain from customer requirement/material planning through final dispatch.
- Ensure seamless coordination between Purchase, Stores, PPC, Production, Quality, Job Work, Powder Coating, Assembly and Dispatch.
- Maintain complete visibility of every critical customer order and production status.
- Identify bottlenecks before they affect production or customer delivery.
- Establish clear accountability across the entire supply-chain organization.

1. Procurement & Strategic Purchasing

- Lead procurement of:
- Sheet metal and steel
- Plates, sheets, channels, tubes and structural material
- Bought-out components
- Fasteners
- Electrical/mechanical components
- Welding and production consumables
- Powder-coating and finishing requirements
- Develop reliable primary and alternate suppliers for critical materials.
- Ensure procurement is aligned with production requirements rather than reactive purchasing.
- Monitor purchase orders, pending deliveries and supplier commitments daily.

1. Price Negotiation & Supplier Agreements

- Personally lead negotiations for major raw materials, bought-outs and subcontracted processes.
- Develop annual/rate contracts and long-term supplier agreements wherever commercially beneficial.
- Negotiate price, credit period, payment terms, MOQ, freight, lead time and commercial conditions.
- Benchmark supplier pricing and continuously identify cost-reduction opportunities.
- Ensure cost reductions do not compromise quality or delivery reliability.
- Develop alternate suppliers to prevent monopolistic supplier dependency.

Production Planning & Control (PPC)

- Take ownership of production planning based on customer schedules and available capacity.
- Convert customer demand into daily, weekly and monthly production plans.
- Ensure machine, manpower and material availability is aligned with the production plan.
- Review loading across laser cutting, bending, welding, fabrication, coating and assembly.
- Monitor planned versus actual production every day.
- Ensure bottlenecks and capacity constraints are identified in advance.
- Establish a strong system for Plan vs Actual vs Backlog vs Recovery Plan .

1. Manufacturing Process Understanding

The candidate must have practical understanding of the complete sheet metal manufacturing cycle, including:
- Laser cutting
- Laser nesting and material utilization
- Bending
- Welding
- Fabrication
- Structural fabrication
- Grinding and finishing
- Sand blasting
- Powder coating
- Painting
- Assembly
- Packing and dispatch

The SCM Head is not expected to replace the Plant Head technically, but must understand these processes sufficiently to question delays, challenge inefficiencies, understand capacity constraints and drive output .

1. Stores & Inventory Management

- Maintain optimum inventory of raw material, WIP, bought-out parts and finished goods.
- Establish Min-Max and Reorder Level systems for critical bought-out parts.
- Prevent production stoppages due to material shortages.
- Simultaneously prevent excessive inventory and unnecessary working-capital blockage.
- Ensure GRN, material inward, issue, return and stock movements are accurately recorded in ERP.
- Drive regular physical stock verification and reconciliation.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving and obsolete inventory.

1. Job Work, Powder Coating & Outsourcing

- Manage all outsourced manufacturing processes and job-work suppliers.
- Ensure materials sent for job work are tracked accurately.
- Monitor quantities, rejection, turnaround time and pending material at subcontractors.
- Develop multiple reliable vendors for critical outsourced processes.
- Control costs for powder coating, blasting, fabrication and other subcontracted activities.
- Ensure subcontracting never becomes a bottleneck for customer delivery.

1. Assembly & Final Dispatch

- Ensure all fabricated components and bought-out parts reach assembly according to plan.
- Coordinate assembly priorities based on customer dispatch schedules.
- Ensure finished products are completed, inspected, packed and dispatched on time.
- Coordinate transporters and logistics for cost-effective dispatch.
- Drive the organization towards 100% On-Time Delivery (OTD) .

1. Supplier Performance Management

Develop formal supplier scorecards covering:
- Quality
- Cost
- Delivery
- Lead time
- Responsiveness
- Rejection
- Commercial performance

Conduct periodic supplier reviews and implement corrective actions for underperforming vendors.
1. Cost Reduction & Profit Improvement

Cost reduction will be a major KRA for this position. The candidate must continuously identify savings through:
- Steel/raw-material negotiations
- Better purchasing terms
- Alternate sourcing
- Supplier localization




- Freight optimization
- Inventory reduction
- Better material utilization
- Laser nesting/yield improvement
- Scrap reduction
- Job-work rate negotiations
- Powder-coating cost reduction
- Packaging optimization
- Value engineering
- Reduction of premium/urgent purchases
- Reduction of emergency freight

All savings must be measurable and reflected in company profitability.
1. ERP, MIS & Management Visibility

- Ensure all supply-chain transactions and production statuses are updated correctly in ERP.
- Establish dashboards giving real-time visibility of:
- Customer orders
- Material requirements
- Purchase orders
- Material shortages
- Inventory
- Production plan vs actual
- WIP
- Job-work material
- Assembly status
- Finished goods
- Pending dispatches
- Ensure Finance has advance visibility of major procurement requirements and upcoming supplier payments.
- Present a structured daily/weekly SCM and operations review to the CEO .

1. Working Capital Management

- Work closely with Finance to optimize inventory and supplier credit.
- Reduce unnecessary cash blockage in raw material, WIP and finished goods.
- Negotiate improved supplier credit terms.
- Ensure procurement decisions consider both production requirements and cash-flow implications.
- Improve inventory turns without increasing production risk.

1. Leadership & Team Management

The candidate must be a strong and commanding operational leader capable of driving execution through people.

- Lead Purchase, PPC, Stores, Logistics, Job Work, Assembly/Dispatch coordination and related SCM functions.
- Establish explicit KRAs and accountability for every team member.
- Conduct daily operational reviews.
- Challenge delays and weak execution.
- Follow up aggressively until commitments are completed.
- Develop a strong second line within the SCM organization.
- Take corrective action where repeated non-performance affects operations.
- Build a culture where commitments to customers and internal departments are treated seriously.

Candidate Profile
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering preferred.
- MBA in Operations / Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.
- 15+ years of relevant manufacturing experience , with significant experience leading SCM/Purchase/PPC/Operations.
- Candidate should preferably come from the sheet metal fabrication, industrial equipment, automotive components, compressor/genset enclosure, construction equipment or similar engineering manufacturing industry .

Compensation

CTC: ₹24–32 Lakhs per annum , depending on relevant industry experience, leadership capability, current compensation and demonstrated track record.

For exceptional candidates with a proven history of managing large-scale end-to-end manufacturing supply chains, compensation may be evaluated based on capability.
