Role Description The Head of DevOps at Beta is a full-time, on-site role based in Tiruvallur, responsible for leading the end-to-end DevOps strategy and execution across multiple product teams. This role oversees the design, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable deployment processes.

The Head of DevOps collaborates closely with software development, QA, and product teams to improve delivery cycles, automate workflows, and enhance system observability. Daily activities include managing and mentoring the DevOps team, optimizing Linux-based environments, monitoring performance and availability, and driving best practices in security, configuration management, and incident response. The role also involves setting standards, evaluating recent tools and technologies,



and aligning DevOps initiatives with business objectives and engineering roadmaps.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Software Development skills, with experience in scripting or programming languages commonly used in DevOps (e.g., Python, Go, or similar).
- Candidates should possess Infrastructure skills, including cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and configuration management tools.
- Candidates should possess Continuous Integration and delivery skills, with hands-on experience in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and automated testing and deployment pipelines.
- Candidates should possess Team Leadership skills, including leading cross-functional engineering teams, mentoring DevOps engineers, and driving collaboration and process improvements.
- Candidates should possess Linux skills, including administration, performance tuning, shell scripting, and security hardening of production environments.
- Relevant experience in monitoring, logging, and observability tools (such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stacks) and incident management practices.
- Strong understanding of security, networking, and compliance in distributed systems, with the ability to design resilient and fault-tolerant architectures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in a senior DevOps or SRE leadership role is highly beneficial.
