About Eventsliner

Eventsliner is an event discovery platform built to help Students discover what’s happening around them, from college events and workshops to concerts, cultural events and more.

We’re now expanding our presence across campuses and cities and are looking for people who want to work directly on market expansion and growth

.

About the role

As a Growth Strategy Analyst

, you will be responsible for helping Eventsliner establish and grow its presence in your assigned campus/city.

This isn’t a traditional promotional or campus ambassador role.

You will work on

- Market research
- User acquisition
- Event acquisition
- Partnerships
- Community building
- Growth experiments
- Competitor analysis
- Data and reporting

You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with the founding team and see how a consumer startup expands into a recent market. What you’ll do 1. Market Research & Analysis

- Identify major colleges, student communities and event ecosystems in your territory.
- Research what types of events students are interested in.
- Identify active college societies, clubs and student organizations.
- Find local event organizers, venues and communities.
- Track competing event discovery and ticketing platforms.
- Identify gaps and opportunities for Eventsliner.
- Monitor upcoming events and emerging event trends.

2. Event Acquisition You will help build Eventsliner’s supply of quality events.

- Identify upcoming events that should be listed on Eventsliner.
- Reach out to event organizers and societies.
- Explain Eventsliner’s value proposition.
- Help organizers list their events.
- Build long-term relationships with organizers.
- Follow up with potential organizers.
- Maintain an organized database of event partners.

Key metric: Quality events successfully onboarded.

3. User Growth

You’ll experiment with different ways to acquire users.

Examples

- Campus communities
- Student societies
- WhatsApp communities
- Instagram communities
- Referral programs
- Partnerships
- Offline activations

- Event-based acquisition

You’ll be expected to identify what works and what doesn’t , rather than blindly promoting the app.

4. Partnerships

Identify and build relationships with:

- College societies
- Student organizations
- Event organizers
- Cafés
- Venues
- Local communities
- Creators
- Other relevant organizations

The objective is to create partnerships that can generate repeated users or events , not one-time promotions.

5. Growth Experiments

You’ll be encouraged to test your own ideas.

For example

“Can we acquire 100 active users through three society partnerships?”

“Can we onboard 10 events from local organizers this week?”

“Does a referral campaign outperform Instagram promotion?”

You will design small experiments, execute them, measure the results and recommend what Eventsliner should do next.

6. Reporting & Analytics

Every week, you’ll report:

- Organizers contacted
- Organizers onboarded
- Events onboarded
- Users acquired
- Event registrations
- Partnerships established
- Experiments conducted
- Results
- Problems encountered
- Opportunities identified
- Recommendations for the following week

The expectation isn’t complicated Excel work. It’s being able to look at the numbers and say: “This worked, this didn’t, here’s why, and here’s what we should try next.”

What we’re looking for****Must have

- Currently pursuing a college degree or recently graduated.
- Strong communication skills.
- Comfortable approaching and speaking with new people.
- Good understanding of your local/campus environment.
- Ability to work independently.
- Basic understanding of Instagram, WhatsApp and digital communities.
- Comfortable using Google Sheets/Excel.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to actually execute, not just suggest ideas.

We care more about these than your degree

- Initiative
- Curiosity
- Communication

- Ability to convince people
- Ability to identify opportunities
- Comfort with numbers
- Execution speed
- Ownership

Bonus points for

- Previous startup experience
- College society experience
- Business/consulting experience
- Sales/business development experience
- Marketing/growth experience
- Organizing college events
- Running a student community
- Experience with Excel/Sheets/Notion
- Experience conducting market research

What you’ll get This is the part that makes the role worth applying for.

- Direct exposure to startup growth and market expansion
- Work directly with the Eventsliner founding team
- Ownership of a real campus/market
- Experience in growth strategy, partnerships and business development
- Opportunity to build and execute your own growth experiments
- Performance-based recognition
- Certificate of experience
- Letter of recommendation for exceptional performers
- Opportunity for increased responsibility based on performance
- Potential opportunity to continue with Eventsliner in a larger role

Performance Metrics Your performance will primarily be evaluated on:

1. Quality events onboarded

2. Active users acquired

3. Event registrations generated

4. Partnerships established

5. Growth experiments executed

6. Quality of insights and reporting

We care about results, not activity for the sake of activity.

Who should NOT apply

This is important because it will filter your applicants.

Don’t apply if you’re looking for:

- A role where you only share Instagram stories
- A certificate without meaningful work
- A position requiring very little time or ownership
- A purely theoretical strategy role
- Someone else to tell you exactly what to do every day

We’re looking for people who see an opportunity and figure out how to pursue it. Why this role is different

You won’t simply be asked to:

“Promote Eventsliner in your college.”

Instead, you could be responsible for:

“Help Eventsliner enter and grow within your campus.”

That means researching the market, finding opportunities, acquiring events, building partnerships, acquiring users, running experiments and presenting your results.

That’s the distinction I would push heavily in the recruitment material.
