Role Description The General Manager Mechanical Maintenance is a full-time, on-site role based at CHW Forge’s facility in Ghaziabad. This position oversees the mechanical maintenance of plant and machinery, ensuring high equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and safe working conditions.

Responsibilities include planning and executing preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting mechanical failures, and coordinating urgent repairs to support uninterrupted production. The role manages maintenance teams, vendors, and service contractors, monitors maintenance budgets and spare parts inventory, and drives continuous improvement initiatives for mechanical systems and utilities.

Maintenance also establishes maintenance standards, maintains documentation, supports audits, and collaborates with production, quality, and safety teams to achieve operational excellence.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in mechanical maintenance of heavy industrial equipment, including forging presses, cranes, hydraulic systems, and rotating machinery.
- Proficiency in maintenance planning, preventive and predictive maintenance, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop maintenance teams, manage contractors, and coordinate cross-functional activities with production and engineering.
- Solid understanding of safety standards, statutory and regulatory compliance, and best practices in industrial workplace safety.
- Experience with maintenance documentation, spare parts management, and use of maintenance management software or ERP systems.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a high-throughput manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; an advanced technical qualification or management degree is an advantage.
- Significant experience in heavy manufacturing or forging industry at a senior maintenance or engineering leadership level.
