PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE WORKED IN GARMENT EXPORT IN THE PAST.
We are looking for a strong, experienced and highly disciplined Quality Manager to take complete ownership of garment quality across production.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is firm on standards, confident in taking decisions, and unwilling to allow defective or incomplete work to move to the next stage simply to meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Take complete ownership of quality from fabric/cutting through stitching, finishing, packing and final shipment.
- Establish clear quality checkpoints at cutting, pilot/first-piece, inline, mid-line, finishing, packing and final inspection.
- Ensure buyer specifications, approved samples, measurements, workmanship and packing requirements are followed exactly.
- Conduct and supervise AQL-based final inspections and ensure goods are shipment-ready before approval.
- Identify defects at the earliest possible stage rather than allowing problems to accumulate at final inspection.
- Stop production or hold goods when required if quality standards are not being met.
- Ensure every rejected piece is properly recorded, segregated and sent for rectification.
- Personally follow up until rejected/rework pieces are corrected, rechecked and formally closed.
- Maintain daily dashboards covering:
- inspected quantity
- passed quantity
- rejected quantity
- rework quantity
- defect categories
- pending rectifications
- responsible department/person
- final closure status
- Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring defects and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure the same quality problem does not repeatedly occur across production.
- Work closely with Production, Merchandising, Sampling, Cutting, Finishing and Packing teams.
- Conduct regular floor checks rather than relying only on reports from QC staff.
- Train and manage the Quality team and ensure inspectors themselves are accountable for missed defects.
- Ensure proper documentation, inspection reports, photographic/video evidence where required, and traceability of quality checks.
- Handle buyer QC teams, third-party inspections and customer quality requirements professionally.
- Prepare the factory for buyer audits and quality inspections.
- Ensure subcontractors/job workers also follow the company's quality standards.
- Escalate serious quality concerns directly to senior management without hiding or delaying issues.
- Balance production requirements with quality—but quality must never be compromised simply to achieve shipment numbers.
Who We Are Looking For The ideal candidate should be:
- Strong-minded, firm and confident on the factory floor
- Highly detail-oriented and observant
- Comfortable challenging Production Managers, supervisors and teams when standards are not met
- Someone who does not accept “it will be fixed later” as an answer
- Extremely strong on follow-up and closure
- Able to make difficult decisions under shipment pressure
- Process-driven and comfortable working with dashboards, reports and ERP systems
- Experienced in dealing with international buyers and export quality standards
- Solid in garment construction, measurements, workmanship, fabrics, trims, embroidery/printing and finishing
- Experienced in AQL, inline inspection, final inspection, root-cause analysis and CAPA
- A strong team leader who can build accountability within the QC department
Experience
8–15+ years of garment manufacturing/export quality experience, with significant experience as a Quality Manager / QA Manager / Quality Head in a garment export house.
Experience handling international buyers and high-volume garment production will be strongly preferred.
What Success in This Role Looks Like
We want someone who can create a factory environment where:
Problems are detected early → documented → responsibility is assigned → rectification happens → goods are rechecked → the issue is closed → preventive action is taken so it does not happen again.
The person should ultimately be able to say:
“If I have approved the goods, I am personally confident they meet our buyer's quality standards.”
For your requirement, I would actually title this role “Quality Manager – Factory Quality & Compliance” or “Senior Quality Manager – Garment Manufacturing” rather than simply “QC Manager.” It makes it clear that you want someone with authority and ownership, not just an inspector.
