About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Environment Concept Artist to join our team, focusing on the urban world design for an upcoming project inspired by Hyderabad. This is a key role that involves conceptualizing and developing the visual identity of a large, playable urban environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in concept art fundamentals, with the ability to translate architectural and urban layouts into believable, engaging environments that serve both aesthetic and gameplay purposes. The role requires close collaboration with environment artists and developers to ensure the seamless integration of concepts into real-time engines such as Unreal Engine.

Qualifications The successful candidate should demonstrate a robust portfolio showcasing environment concept art, with a particular emphasis on urban and architectural environments.

Essential qualifications include proficiency in Blender or Maya for quick blockouts and 3D-assisted concept design, along with strong skills in Photoshop or equivalent workflows. Candidates should possess excellent understanding of composition,



perspective, lighting, and architectural principles, as well as a keen sense of real-world scale and spatial reasoning.

Experience in designing environments that consider urban connectivity, street-level details, and terrain variations is highly desirable. Familiarity with Indian urban environments, especially Hyderabad, will be considered an advantage but is not mandatory.

Responsibilities

- Develop detailed environment concepts for streets, neighborhoods, commercial zones, residential areas, and major urban spaces inspired by Hyderabad.
- Create visual identities that reflect a contemporary or future city grounded in recognizable cultural and architectural elements.
- Translate architectural layouts, gameplay requirements, and top-down maps into compelling visual concepts that inform the environment design process.
- Design street-level compositions with believable scale, density, and spatial hierarchy, ensuring environments are both aesthetically pleasing and functional for gameplay.
- Develop building facades, frontage systems, boundary walls, setbacks, and urban edges that contribute to the city's character.
- Explore architectural variations while maintaining the overarching identity of the city.
- Define secondary environmental details such as signage, advertising, shopfronts, street furniture, utility elements, vegetation, parking,



and informal urban layers.
- Incorporate terrain, slopes, and elevation changes into environment concepts to enhance realism and spatial dynamics.
- Create quick 3D blockouts to validate scale, composition, and spatial relationships, followed by paintovers and final concept frames.
- Collaborate closely with environment artists to ensure concepts are accurately translated into in-engine assets and environments.
- Iterate rapidly, exploring multiple design options and refining concepts based on feedback and project needs.
