About The Role We are seeking a talented Environment Concept Artist to join our team, focusing on urban world design inspired by the vibrant city of Hyderabad. This role is primarily centered around concept art creation, where your expertise will help shape the visual identity of a large, playable urban environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in environment art fundamentals, with the ability to develop detailed and believable cityscapes at street, neighborhood, and district scales. You will work closely with designers, 3D artists, and developers to translate architectural layouts, gameplay requirements, and cultural nuances into compelling visual concepts that are both functional and aesthetically engaging.

The successful candidate should be comfortable using Blender or Maya for quick blockouts, spatial exploration, and converting 2D ideas into clear 3D visual compositions. Your work will involve developing environment concepts for streets, residential areas, commercial zones, and major urban spaces, ensuring each element contributes to a cohesive and believable cityscape. Your contributions will influence the overall visual storytelling, gameplay flow, and cultural authenticity of the urban environment, making it a vital part of our project team.





Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a robust portfolio demonstrating strong environment concept art skills, with particular emphasis on urban and architectural environments. You should have a comprehensive understanding of composition, perspective, lighting, and visual storytelling, coupled with an excellent sense of real-world scale and proportion.

Experience working on cityscapes, streetscapes, or urban environments, especially those inspired by Indian cities like Hyderabad, is highly desirable.

You should have proficiency in Blender or Maya for blockout and 3D-assisted concept design, along with solid Photoshop skills or equivalent workflows for paintovers and final concept frames. Strong spatial reasoning, the ability to iterate rapidly, and a keen eye for detail are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate an understanding of terrain, elevation, and how urban elements interact within a believable city environment.

Additionally, familiarity with urban design principles, signage, advertising culture, and informal urban layers will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

- Develop comprehensive environment concepts for streets, neighborhoods, commercial and residential areas, and major urban spaces, ensuring cultural and visual authenticity.
- Establish a distinctive visual identity for a Hyderabad-inspired contemporary/future city, balancing realism with creative imagination.
- Translate architectural layouts, gameplay needs, and cultural details into compelling visual concepts and mood frames.
- Create detailed street-level compositions that depict believable scale, density, and spatial hierarchy within the urban landscape.
- Design building facades, frontage systems, boundary walls, setbacks, and urban edges that reflect the city's character.




- Explore architectural variations while maintaining a cohesive overall city identity.
- Define secondary environmental layers such as signage, advertising, shopfronts, street furniture, utility elements, vegetation, parking, and informal urban additions.
- Incorporate terrain features, slopes, and elevation changes into environment designs to enhance realism and spatial coherence.
- Develop quick 3D blockouts to validate scale, composition, and spatial relationships, followed by detailed paintovers and final concept frames.
- Collaborate closely with environment artists to ensure concepts are accurately translated into in-engine assets within Unreal Engine or similar platforms.
- Participate in iterative design processes, exploring multiple directions and refining concepts based on feedback and project requirements.
