About The Role We are seeking a talented and experienced Workplace Concept Artist to join our team, focusing on urban world design for a large-scale, playable city inspired by Hyderabad. This role is primarily centered around concept art creation, with an emphasis on developing comprehensive visual identities for various urban environments within the game.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in environment art, capable of translating architectural layouts and gameplay requirements into compelling visual concepts. You will work closely with our environment artists and technical teams to ensure your designs are feasible for development in Unreal Engine. The position offers flexibility for remote work or based in Hyderabad, with opportunities for full-time or long-term engagement.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in environment concept art, with a focus on urban and architectural environments. A thorough understanding of composition, perspective, lighting, and visual storytelling is essential.

Experience working with Blender or Maya for quick blockouts and spatial exploration is highly desirable.



Candidates should have a keen eye for real-world scale and proportion, as well as the ability to think about environments as interconnected urban spaces rather than isolated structures. Familiarity with terrain, elevation, and how these elements influence urban design is important.

Good Photoshop skills or an equivalent workflow are required to develop final concepts and paintovers. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate rapid iteration skills and the ability to explore multiple design directions efficiently.

Responsibilities

- Develop detailed environment concepts for streets, neighborhoods, commercial areas, residential pockets, and major urban spaces that reflect a Hyderabad-inspired cityscape.
- Establish a believable visual identity that captures the essence of a contemporary and future urban setting.
- Translate architectural layouts and gameplay requirements into compelling visual concepts, ensuring they are both functional and aesthetically appealing.
- Create street-level compositions with accurate scale, density, and spatial hierarchy, considering urban flow and accessibility.
- Design building facades, frontage systems, boundary walls, setbacks, and urban edges that define the character of different districts.
- Explore architectural variations while maintaining the overall identity of the city.
- Define secondary environmental details such as signage, advertising, shopfronts, street furniture, utility elements, vegetation, parking, and informal urban additions.




- Incorporate weathering, imperfections, and neighborhood-specific details to enhance realism and authenticity.
- Understand terrain influences like slopes and elevation changes, ensuring they are naturally integrated into the environment design.
- Create quick 3D blockouts to validate scale, composition, and spatial relationships, followed by developing detailed paintovers and final concept frames.
- Collaborate closely with environment artists to ensure concepts are accurately translated into in-engine assets within Unreal Engine.
- Iterate rapidly, exploring multiple design options to refine the visual language of the urban environment.
