Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Firewall Engineer with a strong background in designing, implementing, administering, and supporting enterprise network security infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing Fortinet FortiGate, Cisco Firepower, and Palo Alto Networks firewalls through centralized management platforms such as FortiManager, Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC), and Palo Alto Panorama.

The candidate will be responsible for firewall operations, security policy management, incident resolution, firewall upgrades, VPN administration, rule lifecycle management, and ensuring compliance with enterprise security standards.

Key Responsibilities

Firewall Administration & Operations

- Manage and support enterprise firewalls including:
- Fortinet FortiGate
- Cisco Firepower
- Palo Alto Networks
- Perform firewall provisioning, configuration, policy deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Create, modify, and implement firewall security policies through approved change management processes.
- Manage firewall objects, address groups, services, NAT policies, and security zones.
- Perform routine firewall health checks and capacity assessments.

Centralized Firewall Management

- Administer and manage:
- Cisco FMC (Firepower Management Center)
- Palo Alto Panorama
- FortiManager
- Deploy and maintain standardized security policies across multiple sites and regions.
- Conduct policy audits and remediation of unused, redundant, or risky firewall rules.




- Ensure compliance with security governance and audit requirements.

Security & Threat Protection

- Monitor and respond to firewall-related security incidents.
- Analyze firewall logs and security events.
- Support IDS/IPS, URL filtering, application control, malware protection, and threat prevention capabilities.
- Collaborate with SOC and Cyber Security teams during investigations and incident resolution.

Firewall Upgrades & Maintenance

- Execute firmware and software upgrades.
- Perform firewall migrations, configuration backups, restoration, and rollback procedures.
- Conduct HA (High Availability) failover testing and disaster recovery validation.
- Coordinate with vendors for TAC support and hardware/software issues.

VPN & Remote Access

- Configure and support:
- Site-to-Site VPNs
- IPSec VPNs
- SSL VPNs
- Remote Access VPN solutions
- Troubleshoot VPN connectivity and performance issues.

Troubleshooting & Support

- Troubleshoot complex network security issues involving routing, NAT, VPNs, and application connectivity.
- Perform packet captures and traffic analysis using network diagnostic tools.
- Work closely with network, cloud, and application teams to resolve service-impacting incidents.

Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain firewall documentation, network diagrams,



and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in change reviews, risk assessments, and audit activities.
- Ensure adherence to ITIL processes and information security standards.

- Palo Alto Firewalls
- Experience managing policies through:
- FortiManager
- Cisco FMC
- Palo Alto Panorama
- Experience with firewall upgrades, migrations, and HA deployments.
- Knowledge of ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.
