Ambiguity (Operational Deliverables)

Identification of Defects in Source Data During Reconciliation Process

L4 professionals are expected to independently identify at least 90% of defects in source data during the reconciliation process. They should conclude findings and determine exactly where corrections are required through Manual Journal Entries (MJE). Corrections should be made post L5 review, with L5 support sought as needed.

Additionally, L4s are expected to raise the bar by ensuring zero whiteboards in account reconciliations prepared. They should lead discussions with accounting points of contact on month-end related issues and resolve them independently. All journals must be posted with zero errors in posting, with confirmation or review from accounting wherever applicable.

L4s must adhere to SLAs on all month-end close deliverables and ensure zero aged open items in reconciliations. System issues during close should be escalated through SIM tickets to CRS/Tech, with follow-up for resolution on all 100% of system issues.

Month End Close Process

L4 professionals are expected to independently perform all month-end activities for their scope. This includes ensuring all journals are posted with zero errors and maintaining adherence to all SLA requirements for month-end close deliverables.

Interpretation of Executed Agreements and Sub-Ledger Actions

L4s are expected to independently perform and complete sub-ledger actions through interpretation of source data for sub-ledger accounting and categorization with at least 90% accuracy. This includes interpreting executed agreements, invoices, and SIM requests for Opex classification, asset categorization for capitalization, and lease record creation in sub-ledgers. L5 support should be sought as needed.

New Business Launches and Transitions

L4 professionals will perform transition and accounting through knowledge transfer sessions with accounting. Sign-off from L5 should be obtained post completion of the activity.

Stakeholder Connections

L4s are responsible for driving monthly connects with accounting stakeholders at L4, L5, and L6 levels relating to process and accounting support activities and open items in reconciliations. They should regularly communicate challenges and findings from analysis or reviews, developing working relationships between business partners, FOAA I&A; managers, and peers.

Escalations

L4 professionals are expected to handle escalations from stakeholders end-to-end, seeking supervision from L5 as required.

Capacity and Prioritization

L4s must manage their own capacity and prioritization for daily and monthly tasks while seeking guidance from L5 as required.

Standard Operating Procedures and UBER SADs

L4 professionals are responsible for preparing and periodically updating SOPs with the guidance of L5 and seeking sign-off. Similarly, they should prepare and follow UBER SADs with L5 guidance and obtain sign-off.

FORGE, Self-Assessment, and PBC Support (Enhancing Controllership)

L4s should act as subject matter experts in identifying and resolving operational issues. They are expected to provide responses to audit observations and identify any deviations from the data flow, escalating and working with technology and controllership teams to drive solutions. L4 professionals should insist on standard accounting practices when any deviation is noticed.

Process Improvement

Document Preparation for Leadership Reviews

L4 professionals provide status updates on pre and final reconciliations and reconciling open items. They contribute inputs relating to the process for document preparation, including MBR, CER, HT, L2 rejects, and inputs for dive-deep documentation for leadership reviews. They also provide inputs for any ad-hoc requests from global or central accounting teams.

Project and Process Improvement Initiatives (Invent and Simplify)

L4s should identify opportunities in their current process for simplification, automation, and standardization within their scope of work, including stop exercises. They support functional projects by performing UAT and sharing observations. L4 professionals must ensure a high bar on controllership during project testing and implementation. They should read Accounting Requirement Documents and share inputs and comments with L6.

Communication

Communication with Stakeholders and Leadership Team

Scope and Influence

Reconciliation and Accounting Support Activities

L4 professionals work on geo-specific entity and account reconciliations (minimum 100) and sub-ledger actions. They are responsible for ensuring unassigned accounts are claimed on-time. L4s influence accounting stakeholders up to L7 level through regular connects. Their influence extends to internal FOAA cross-functional teams including Finops, I&A;, PMO, AFFS, Lease tech, and FOAA service centers, as well as external stakeholders such as Accounting, FBI, TRACE, MACE tech, and Fintech.

They communicate with customers on daily and monthly process activities and manage straightforward problems relating to sub-ledger actions and open items in reconciliations.
