Role Overview
This role sits at the intersection of corporate accounting standards and financial data engineering. This position is designed for an analytically driven expert looking to apply their accounting expertise into the development of a robust corporate financial database rather than pursuing traditional auditing. You will transform disparate corporate reporting into highly structured, standardized database,
directly impacting the analytical capabilities of top-tier financial institutions, researchers, and corporates.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze relevant datasets and corporate disclosures with a view to create an effective database that best supports various real-time use cases and analytical applications.
- Deeply study and analyze financial and non-financial disclosures across multiple accounting frameworks (IGAAP, Ind AS) applicable to diverse industries.
- Build and maintain standardised schemas to unify and map divergent reporting practices across accounting formats applicable to banking, financial, & non-financial corporate structures.
- Stay abreast of regulatory disclosure mandates and updated accounting frameworks to proactively align the database schema with evolving corporate disclosure practices.
- Implement stringent mathematical and logical validation rules to prevent or eliminate data errors to ensure flawless database integrity.
- Establish precise data-capturing practices across reporting formats to maintain consistent semantic definitions and preserve line-item integrity, ensuring absolute analytical accuracy for end-user financial analysis.
- Document structured financial metadata, line-item histories,
and accounting treatment frameworks to establish a formal knowledge base that guides database operations and empowers clients with critical analytical context.
- Design, monitor, and continuously refine the operational workflows to drive processing efficiency and maintain flawless database standards.
- Leverage expertise in ratio analysis, peer bench-marking, and other evaluation techniques to contribute to the development of refined ratios and algorithms to enable superior analysis.
- Understand CMIE's financial and non-financial databases on companies and the delivery of this information to various segments of the financial markets.
Skills & Qualifications
- Candidates must have cleared at least CA Intermediate (both groups) or ACCA Applied Skills (with Financial Reporting), with advanced preference for CA Finalists (Group 1 cleared), Qualified CAs, or ACCA Affiliates/Members
- .Strong understanding of corporate reporting frameworks and disclosure practices across IGAAP and Ind AS Accounting Standards
- .Familiarity with corporate governance guidelines issued by regulators such as the RBI, SEBI, or MCA
- .Ability to interpret financial and non-financial information in the context of varied analytical use-cases
- .Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to the stakeholders effectively
- .Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
- .Numeracy, the ability to deal with numbers, conduct time-series analysis and basic principles of statistics is essential. Skills in R Programming, Advanced Excel, Python or similar system will be beneficial
