Executive – Techno-Commercial

- Job Purpose The Executive – Techno-Commercial will be responsible for supporting the project in Commercial, Procurement and Technical Civil activities.
The role requires a combination of commercial understanding, procurement coordination and practical knowledge of civil engineering to ensure effective procurement, cost control, quantity verification, vendor management and smooth execution of project requirements.
The position will act as a coordination link between Project Execution, Procurement, Commercial, Stores, Accounts, Vendors/Subcontractors and Client.
- Key Responsibilities
A. Commercial Management
- Support day-to-day commercial activities of assigned projects.
- Prepare, verify and maintain client, vendor and subcontractor bills.
- Verify quantities, rates, BOQ items and supporting documents.
- Maintain records of work orders, purchase orders, subcontract orders and billing.
- Track advances, retention, deductions, recoveries and outstanding payments.
- Assist in preparation of commercial MIS and project reports.
- Support quantity and cost reconciliation.
- Identify commercial discrepancies and bring them to the attention of management.
B. Procurement
- Coordinate procurement of civil construction materials, consumables, equipment and services as per project requirements.
- Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers/vendors.
- Prepare comparative statements (CS) for procurement.
- Check specifications, quantities, rates, taxes, freight, delivery terms and payment terms.
- Coordinate with Project/Site teams to understand material requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors for quotation, negotiation, order placement and delivery.
- Follow up on material delivery as per project schedule.
- Maintain procurement status and pending order reports.
- Coordinate with Stores for material receipt and reconciliation.
- Assist in vendor evaluation based on price, quality, delivery and technical compliance.
- Ensure procurement is carried out within approved budgets and specifications.
C. Technical – Civil Responsibilities
- Understand and interpret BOQs, drawings, specifications and scope of work.
- Review technical requirements of materials before procurement.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers for technical specifications and material requirements.
- Verify quantities required for procurement against BOQ and site requirements.
- Understand basic construction methodology and sequence of civil works.
- Assist in identifying suitable materials and vendors based on technical requirements.
- Verify whether supplier quotations comply with required technical specifications.
- Support the Execution team in resolving basic technical-commercial issues.
D. Quantity & Cost Control
- Monitor BOQ quantity vs. required quantity vs. procured quantity vs. executed quantity.
- Prepare quantity reconciliation for major materials and civil works.
- Assist in material consumption and wastage analysis.
- Identify excess procurement and potential shortages.
- Support project cost monitoring against approved budgets.
- Assist in preparation of rate analysis and cost comparisons.
- Highlight significant price variations and cost impact.
E. Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors and service providers.
- Verify vendor/subcontractor commercial documents.
- Check bills against approved purchase/work orders and actual supply/execution.
- Coordinate with site and stores teams for verification of supplied materials.
- Maintain vendor-wise records of orders, supplies, bills and payments.
- Follow up for pending documents, deliveries and commercial closures.
- Support negotiation with vendors for rates, delivery and commercial terms.

- Concrete, reinforcement, earthwork, masonry and other civil works.
- Construction materials and their technical requirements.
- Material quantity estimation and reconciliation.
- Basic construction methodology.
- Qualification
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Civil Engineering preferred.
- Candidates with relevant experience in Civil Construction + Commercial + Procurement may also be considered.
- Experience
2–5 years of experience in infrastructure, EPC or civil construction with exposure to:
Commercial + Procurement + Civil Technical Functions
Candidates from construction companies, EPC contractors or infrastructure project organizations will be preferred.
- Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Civil Construction, Commercial and Procurement.
- Positive knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Ability to understand BOQs, drawings and technical specifications.
- Good negotiation and vendor coordination skills.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to compare technical and commercial aspects of quotations.
- Ability to coordinate between site, procurement and commercial teams.
- Knowledge of ERP/procurement software will be an advantage.
