Role Description Department The School of Arts and Creative Technologies (ACT) brings contemporary, dynamic and creative disciplines together to inspire current areas for teaching, learning and research. Culture and arts events are central to the activities of the school and are a core component of the school.
Role
Working within the ACT & York School of Architecture (YSA) Events Team and reporting to the Events & External Relations Coordinator, the role-holder will administer and support the exciting seasons of concerts, performing arts and other cultural events that will inspire students and the wider public, and that will contribute to the University’s research, teaching and public outreach excellence. Outside of the main concert season, you will be involved in supporting other events within the portfolio of ACT and YSA.
Skills, Experience & Qualification Needed
- Level 2 qualification including Maths and English. (Qualifications at this level include five GCSEs at grade A*-C/ grade 4-9. Please view the full list.) We also welcome applicants with equivalent non-UK qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant Professional experience in the performing arts sector and/or a qualification related to artistic performance administration
- Experience of working in an events role to deliver successful public facing performances, that include specialist music performances or concerts.
- An understanding of and interest in promoting the performing arts to existing and new audiences.
- Knowledge of marketing techniques and approaches applicable to concerts and performance events that span a wide range of genres.
- Able to produce a broad range of marketing and communication materials, tailored to the audience, using a variety of media
- Understanding of digital communications channels including websites and social media
