Estimation & Application Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Estimation & Application Engineer with strong expertise in costing, estimation, proposal engineering and techno-commercial activities . The role will support projects and customers across India, the Middle East and Europe , working closely with Engineering, Procurement, Production and Sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed cost estimates, cost sheets and commercial quotations .
- Develop technical and commercial proposals based on customer requirements and project specifications.
- Review RFQs, customer specifications, engineering drawings and technical documents to understand scope and requirements.
- Prepare, review and analyse Bills of Materials (BOMs) .
- Develop project costing based on materials, components, manufacturing processes, labour and other project inputs .
- Evaluate supplier quotations and conduct cost and commercial comparisons .
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Production and Sales to develop technically sound and commercially competitive proposals.
- Establish and document costing assumptions, project scope, exclusions and commercial conditions .
- Support value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Perform zero-based costing and should-cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Support the sales team with technical and commercial inputs during customer discussions and negotiations .

Required Skills & Experience





- 5–10 years of relevant experience in costing, estimation, proposal engineering, application engineering or techno-commercial roles.
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment .
- Strong understanding of:
- Zero-based costing and should-cost analysis
- Manufacturing processes and cost estimation
- Engineering drawings and technical specifications
- BOM preparation and analysis
- Material and component costing
- Fabrication, machining and assembly processes
- Supplier quotation analysis and cost evaluation
- Strong analytical, numerical and MS Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems will be an advantage.
- Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into accurate costing and commercially viable solutions .
- Strong communication and coordination skills.

Added Advantage Knowledge or experience in any of the following will be highly valued:

- Industrial and molecular filtration
- Gas-phase filtration
- Activated carbon and chemical filtration media
- HVAC and air-treatment systems
- Engineering/design of filtration or air-treatment equipment
- Manufacturing and application of filtration systems

Travel ✈️ Willingness to travel within India and internationally is required , including travel to customer sites, suppliers and project locations.
