Role Overview:

We are looking for an Equity Fundamental Research Analyst to join our Institutional Equity Research team. The role will involve financial modelling, company and sector analysis, preparation of research reports, tracking quarterly results and regulatory developments, and providing actionable investment insights to Institutional clients and the internal sales and dealing teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain detailed financial models covering P&L;, Balance Sheet, ratios and valuations.
- Prepare initiating coverage reports, quarterly result updates, sector/thematic notes and event-based research reports.
- Track quarterly results, management commentary, concalls and investor presentations and translate insights into actionable research.
- Monitor RBI, IRDAI, SEBI and other regulatory developments impacting the BFSI sector.
- Develop and update earnings estimates, target prices and investment ratings such as Buy/Hold/Sell.
- Conduct peer analysis, competitive positioning and cross-sector analysis.
- Attend management meetings, industry conferences and conduct channel checks to develop differentiated investment views.
- Support Institutional Sales and Dealing teams with stock-specific and sector-specific insights.
- Participate in client calls, roadshows and marketing of research ideas to institutional investors, including FIIs, DIIs and domestic funds.
- Coordinate with Compliance to ensure research reports adhere to SEBI Research Analyst regulations and internal processes.




- Maintain sector databases, valuation sheets and comparative company matrices.
- Track macroeconomic indicators such as interest rates, credit growth and asset quality trends relevant to BFSI.
- Deliver high-quality research output within tight timelines, particularly during quarterly result seasons.

Key Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in financial modelling and valuation techniques including DCF, P/E, P/B, P/BV and Embedded Value.
- Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to develop a explicit investment thesis and communicate it effectively.
- Excellent research report writing and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of financial databases such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Ace Equity or similar platforms.
- Understanding of SEBI Research Analyst regulations and sell-side research compliance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with company management, institutional clients and internal teams.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance, Economics, Commerce or a related discipline.
- MBA Finance, CFA or CA (completed/pursuing) will be preferred.
- 2-6 years of relevant experience in Equity Research, preferably with BFSI sector coverage.
- Prior sell-side equity research experience is preferred.
- NISM Research Analyst Certification preferred, or willingness to acquire the certification.
- Proven ability to independently track a sector, build financial models and deliver high-quality research within defined timelines.
