Role Description The Equipment Incharge is a full-time, in office role based in Ahmedabad. This role is responsible for overseeing all workshop and service equipment, ensuring that tools and machinery are available, functional, and maintained according to safety and operational standards. Daily tasks include monitoring equipment usage, scheduling preventive maintenance, coordinating repairs with vendors, and keeping accurate inventory and service records.
The Equipment
Incharge collaborates with workshop managers and technicians to minimize downtime, support efficient service operations, and enforce compliance with health, safety, and manufacturer guidelines.
The role also involves periodically assessing equipment needs, recommending upgrades or replacements, and supporting audits and inspections.
Qualifications
- Technical knowledge of automotive workshop equipment, tools, and machinery, with the ability to identify operational issues and coordinate timely repairs.
- Experience in equipment maintenance planning, including scheduling preventive maintenance, tracking service history, and managing vendor relationships.
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills to maintain accurate records of equipment, spare parts, and consumables.
- Understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements in an automotive workshop or industrial environment.
- Basic computer literacy for using maintenance logs, spreadsheets, or workshop management systems.
- Effective communication and coordination skills to work with technicians, supervisors, and external service providers.
- Prior experience in an automotive dealership, service center, or industrial maintenance role is preferred.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in mechanical, automotive, or industrial engineering is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Ahmedabad and manage responsibilities independently with attention to detail.
