Role & responsibilities The Electro-Hydraulic Engineer is responsible for the design, development, integration, testing, and support of electro-hydraulic actuator systems, including Scotch Yoke actuators, for industrial valve automation and fluid power applications. The role includes hydraulic system design, electrical control architecture development,
actuator sizing and performance analysis, system integration, simulation, testing, and field support. The engineer works closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop reliable, high-performance electro-hydraulic solutions that comply with customer requirements and industry standards. The position also supports new product development, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of electro-hydraulic and
Scotch Yoke actuator products throughout their lifecycle
- Develop electro-hydraulic systems for Scotch Yoke actuators, hydraulic power units, and related control systems.
- Perform actuator sizing, torque analysis, hydraulic circuit design, and system performance optimization for on-off, modulating, and emergency shutdown (ESD) applications.
- Provide technical support for customer specifications, proposal development, and application engineering activities

- Develop hydraulic schematics, electrical control architectures, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
- Integrate hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and control system components into complete actuator solutions.
- Support product validation, qualification testing, FAT/SAT activities, and field commissioning.
- Investigate field issues and perform root-cause analysis to improve product reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and service teams to ensure successful product delivery and lifecycle support.
- Strong expertise in electro-hydraulic systems for valve automation applications.
- Proficiency in hydraulic circuit design, control system design, and actuator integration.
- Knowledge of servo-hydraulic and proportional control systems.
- Understanding of electrical control panels, sensors, instrumentation, and industrial automation.
- Solid understanding of fluid dynamics, pressure/flow calculations, and system performance Experience with PLC programming, logic development, and communication protocols.
- Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, control theory, and system performance optimization.
- Ability to perform hydraulic, electrical, and control system troubleshooting.
- Experience with system testing, validation, and reliability engineering.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration and customer communication skills.
Key Skills & Relevant Experience
Skills
- 5+ years of experience in electro-hydraulic actuator systems and valve automation
- Hands-on experience in hydraulic power unit (HPU) design and control system integration.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic components including pumps, cylinders, accumulators, manifolds, proportional valves, and servo valves.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, industrial controllers, sensors, transmitters, and automation systems.
- Knowledge of field communication protocols such as Modbus, CANopen, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, or Profinet.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, panel design, and motor control systems.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or equivalent engineering tools.
- Experience in system validation, performance testing, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with SIL ratings, ATEX, and hazardous area requirements.
- Strong technical documentation and report preparation skill
