Job Summary The Echo Technician is responsible for performing echocardiographic examinations and other non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing cardiovascular conditions. The technician ensures high-quality imaging, accurate documentation, and patient safety throughout the procedure.

Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Duties
- Perform 2D Echo, Doppler, and Stress Echo tests as prescribed by physicians.
- Obtain high-quality ultrasound images and recordings of the heart and related structures.
- Operate and maintain echocardiography machines and related diagnostic equipment.
- Assist cardiologists during specialized procedures when required.
- Record, store, and archive test results in the hospital’s information system (HIS/PACS).

1. Patient Care
- Prepare and position patients properly for echocardiography procedures.
- Explain the procedure to patients and ensure comfort and privacy.
- Monitor patient condition during the procedure and report abnormalities immediately.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times.

1. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate patient records, test details, and reports.
- Ensure that all images and findings are reviewed and approved by a cardiologist.
- Support the preparation of summaries or reports for clinical meetings when needed.

1. Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of echocardiography equipment.
- Report any malfunctions or service needs to the biomedical department.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the echo lab at all times.

Qualifications
- Education: Diploma / B.Sc. in Cardiac Technology, Echocardiography, or Allied Health Sciences.
- Certification: Certified Echocardiography Technician (optional but preferred).
- Experience: 1–3 years of relevant experience in a hospital or diagnostic center.

- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
- Proficiency in echocardiographic techniques and equipment operation.
- Good communication and patient-handling skills.
- Ability to work independently and under supervision.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
