The Offshore Drilling Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating all drilling operations at the well site, ensuring that activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the approved drilling programme, company procedures, regulatory requirements, and HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise day-to-day drilling operations offshore.
- Ensure drilling activities are executed in accordance with the approved drilling programme and operational procedures.
- Coordinate activities between the drilling contractor, service companies, offshore operations team, and onshore drilling management.
- Monitor drilling parameters, well control, hole conditions, tripping, casing, cementing, well testing, and related operations.
- Ensure effective implementation of well control procedures and maintain readiness for well control emergencies.
- Review and verify drilling reports, daily operational reports, safety observations, and relevant well data.
- Monitor operational performance, equipment utilisation, downtime, and non-productive time (NPT).
- Ensure all drilling equipment and critical systems are properly maintained and fit for purpose.
- Conduct pre-job meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety meetings as required.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, offshore safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Stop unsafe operations when necessary and ensure corrective actions are implemented.




- Maintain accurate operational records and provide timely updates to the Drilling Manager / Operations Manager.
- Participate in emergency response and well control exercises as required.

HSE Responsibilities
- Promote a strong safety culture and demonstrate visible safety leadership offshore.
- Ensure compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), JSA/JHA, toolbox talks, and other HSE systems.
- Monitor safe working practices and report unsafe acts and conditions.
- Ensure environmental protection requirements are followed during drilling operations.
- Participate in incident/near-miss investigations and implementation of corrective actions.

Qualifications & Experience
- Degree/Diploma in Drilling Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10–12 years of relevant drilling experience, preferably with significant offshore experience.
- Proven experience as a Drilling Supervisor / Night Drilling Supervisor / Senior Drilling Engineer in offshore operations.
- Strong knowledge of drilling operations, well control, well integrity, and offshore rig operations.
- Valid IWCF or IADC Well Control Certification appropriate to the role.
- Valid offshore survival and safety certifications as required by the operating location.
- Valuable knowledge of applicable offshore drilling standards, procedures, and HSE requirements.
