Designation: Diamond / Jewellery Grader

Department: Gemmology

Location: Mega CFC, Andheri East, Mumbai

Experience:

- 2–5 years of experience in diamond assorting, diamond grading, jewellery grading, or quality control.
- Experience in handling mounted and loose diamonds will be preferred.
- Exposure to a gemmological laboratory or jewellery manufacturing environment will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Diamond Grading & Analysis

- Perform grading of diamonds as per laboratory standards and accepted grading practices.
- Assess colour, clarity, cut, and other grading characteristics.
- Assist in identification of natural, laboratory-grown, treated, and imitation diamonds.
- Support senior graders in technical evaluations and grading decisions.

2. Jewellery Examination

Examine diamond jewellery using magnification and laboratory instruments.

Verify basic product specifications and observations for report preparation.

3. Quality Control

- Conduct primary grading checks and quality verification.
- Maintain grading consistency and accuracy.
- Follow laboratory SOPs and quality requirements.

4. Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare grading observations and support report generation.
- Maintain accurate records in laboratory systems.
- Ensure proper documentation of grading results and test findings.

5. Learning & Development





- Participate in internal training and calibration sessions.
- Continuously enhance technical knowledge and grading skills.
- Stay updated with developments in diamond grading and identification techniques.

6. Compliance & Laboratory Support

- Adhere to laboratory procedures, quality standards, and confidentiality requirements.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory records and operational discipline.

Required Qualifications

Education

- Graduate in any discipline.

Preferred Certifications

- Diploma or certification in Diamond Grading/Gemmology.
- Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) Graduate Gemmologist (GG) / Graduate Diamonds.
- International Gemmological Institute (IGI) Diamond Grading Certification.
- Equivalent certification from recognized gemmological institutions.

Required Functional Knowledge:

- Knowledge of diamond grading principles and 4Cs.
- Understanding of diamond assorting and jewellery grading.
- Familiarity with loupe, microscope, and basic gemmological instruments.
- Awareness of natural, treated, synthetic, and laboratory-grown diamonds.
