Job Purpose
Responsible for the complete design and development of HPDC dies, from customer part-data study and DFM through final tool design, manufacturing support, assembly, trial corrections, and design release.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Study customer 3D model, 2D drawing, GD&T;, casting requirements and machine specifications.
- Prepare DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and identify casting/tooling feasibility issues.
- Develop the casting model considering machining allowance, draft, shrinkage and casting requirements.
- Prepare shot model / casting layout considering cavity orientation and die-casting machine limitations.
- Design complete HPDC dies in Siemens UG NX.
- Design fixed and moving inserts, die holders, support plates, ejector plates and related die components.
- Design and optimize runner, biscuit, sprue, gate and overflow system.
- Design ejection system, including ejector pins, return pins/rods and ejector plate arrangement.
- Design cooling circuits for inserts, cores, slides and critical thermal areas.
- Design side-core and slider mechanisms, including hydraulic-cylinder-operated cores where required.
- Select suitable standard die components, hydraulic cylinders, limit switches and accessories.
- Check die-casting machine compatibility, including platen size, tie-bar clearance,
shot sleeve, die height, ejector arrangement and machine tonnage.
- Coordinate with the simulation team and incorporate filling, solidification, porosity and thermal-study feedback into the tool design.
- Conduct complete design review before manufacturing release.
- Prepare accurate 2D manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, BOM and standard-part details.
- Maintain proper revision control and ECN/customer-change records.
- Release manufacturing data to CAM, VMC, EDM, Wire Cut, turning and conventional machining departments.
- Provide technical support during tool manufacturing, bench work, fitting and assembly.
- Verify inserts, slides, ejector systems, cooling lines and tool movement during assembly.
- Support T0/T1 trials and analyze casting defects related to tool design.
- Implement design corrections for sticking, flash, undercut, porosity, shrinkage, filling, heat-related issues and dimensional deviations.
- Update final design after trials and maintain as-built tool data.
- Coordinate with customers, manufacturing, quality, CAM, simulation and toolroom teams to meet project timelines.

Preferred Experience
Hands-on experience in independently designing automotive and engineering HPDC dies, preferably for machines ranging from small to large tonnage. Candidate should be capable of taking a project from customer data → DFM → casting/shot model → complete tool design → manufacturing support → trial correction → final design release.

- Strong attention to dimensional accuracy and design standards
Performance Expectations The engineer will be evaluated on design accuracy, on-time design release, minimum manufacturing rework, trial success, design standardization, proper documentation and overall tool performance. Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
