About The Role The Design Engineer — CAD & Detailing role at Nisiki Technologies represents an excellent entry point into the company's engineering division. This position involves transforming conceptual design ideas into detailed technical drawings that are used directly on the shop floor and shared with clients.

As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for creating precise 2D production drawings from 3D models, ensuring adherence to company standards and specifications. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in product development, with the potential to advance into more senior roles within the organization. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proficient in CAD software, and eager to contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions.





Qualifications Applicants should possess a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Candidates with 1-2 years of experience working in a manufacturing drawing office are preferred.

Familiarity with AutoCAD is essential, along with the ability to critically interpret production drawings. A working knowledge of GD&T; symbols and their application on shop floor operations is also required. Candidates must demonstrate high accuracy, discipline in revision control, and an understanding of the importance of maintaining an organized drawing register.

Additional skills such as proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo, exposure to machined or molded components, and awareness of measurement and inspection techniques are considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

- Convert 3D models into detailed 2D production drawings, incorporating GD&T;, surface finish, material specifications, and plating callouts.
- Apply Nisiki’s drawing standards consistently across the commutator and slip ring product ranges.
- Maintain and update the drawing register, tracking revision history, superseded versions, and obsolescence status.
- Ensure accurate linkage between drawings and part numbers, supporting ERP item master data.
- Create and manage 2D/3D models for existing parts, ensuring data integrity and ease of modification.




- Develop parametric templates for recurring commutator families to optimize modelling efficiency for new inquiries.
- Prepare comprehensive drawing packs for RFQ responses and PPAP submissions, facilitating smooth project progression.
- Produce dimensional layouts and first-article documentation for prototype builds, supporting quality and compliance requirements.
- Assist in basic tolerance stack-up analysis under the supervision of the New Product Development (NPD) engineer to ensure manufacturability and quality standards.
