Job SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Design Engineer with a solid background in pressure vessel design

, ASME codes

, and fabrication detailing

. The ideal candidate will have experience in design tools like AutoCAD

, SolidWorks

, and advanced engineering tools such as Codeware Compress and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

. This role requires a solid grasp of international design standards including ASME Section VIII

, ASME-BPE

, and related structural and seismic design codes.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Design and analyse pressure vessels , reactors , storage tanks , and fabricated skids as per ASME Section VIII Div 1 , ASME-BPE , and other global codes.
- Perform mechanical strength calculations including shell and head thickness, nozzle reinforcement, wind/seismic load, support design, and weld sizing.
- Execute FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for stress analysis and load verification (using tools like ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or similar).
- Utilize Codeware Compress or equivalent software for detailed ASME calculations and design validation.
- Create accurate and complete fabrication drawings , welding details , nozzle orientation drawings , section views , and isometric piping drawings .
- Coordinate with the process and instrumentation teams to align mechanical designs with P&ID; and process requirements.
- Support third-party design verification , code stamping , and liaison with Authorized Inspectors (AI) .
- Prepare complete design dossiers , BOMs , and as-built drawings for submission and compliance.
- Provide technical support during fabrication, shop inspections, and client FATs.





Skills and Abilities

- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for mechanical and fabrication design.
- Advanced understanding of ASME Section VIII , ASME-BPE , TEMA , and international fabrication standards.
- Strong command of Code Compress software (preferred) for ASME code-based design.
- Hands-on experience in FEA-based stress analysis and structural optimization.
- Solid grasp of seismic and wind load calculations per UBC/IBC/IS/EN codes.
- In-depth knowledge of welding design , WPS/PQR , and cleanroom equipment design (preferred).
- Ability to interpret P&IDs; , mechanical layout drawings , and piping configurations .
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead design reviews and mentor junior engineers.

Experience:

- 2–3 years of experience in pressure vessel and process equipment design for biotech, pharma, chemical, or food industries.
- Hands-on experience with FEA tools for structural analysis and compliance.
- Exposure to ASME U stamp and certified fabrication environments is highly desirable.
- Proficient in AutoCAD , SolidWorks , and preferably Codeware Compress .

Qualifications Required:

- Diploma/bachelor’s in mechanical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.

- Multidisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate across process, production, QA/QC, and automation teams.
- Documentation & Compliance: Generate complete design documents in line with client and regulatory requirements.
- Problem Solving: Resolve design challenges efficiently with optimized engineering solutions.
- Detail Orientation: Ensure high-quality, code-compliant outputs.
