About the Role

We are looking for enthusiastic and technically skilled Database Support Engineers to join our growing database engineering team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in database administration, database support, monitoring, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, and database migration activities. The role involves supporting enterprise database environments and ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and maintain database environments to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 database support for production and non-production systems.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues and coordinate with internal teams for resolution.
- Perform database backup, restore, recovery, and health check activities.
- Assist in database migration projects, upgrades, and patch management.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning recommendations.
- Support installation, configuration, and maintenance of database servers.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational reports.
- Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with security, backup,



and operational standards.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams during deployments and releases.

Required Skills

- Basic understanding of RDBMS concepts and database administration.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or similar databases.
- Good knowledge of SQL queries, database objects, and performance troubleshooting.
- Experience in database backup and recovery procedures.
- Exposure to database migration and upgrade activities.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Understanding of database monitoring tools and performance metrics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant database certifications will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to cloud database environments is desirable.
- Knowledge of scripting (Shell, Python, or Bash) is a plus.
