About The Role As an Associate Technical Architect - Data at Quantiphi, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing enterprise-scale data platform strategies on AWS. Your expertise will drive the design, architecture, and deployment of state-of-the-art Lakehouse solutions and Data Lakes that support our clients' business objectives.
You will serve as a technical leader, guiding cross-functional teams through the entire project lifecycle—from initial solution architecture and technology selection to implementation, optimization, and ongoing support. This role demands a combination of deep hands-on technical skills, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance data ecosystems. Collaboration with business stakeholders and technical teams will be essential to ensure solutions meet both operational and strategic needs, aligning with best practices in cloud data architecture and engineering.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in cloud data engineering, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise data solutions on AWS. AWS certification such as Solution Architect Associate/Professional or Data Engineer is preferred.
Candidates should have proven expertise in building Data Lakes, Lakehouses, and Data Warehouses, with hands-on experience in modern data engineering tools and technologies. Strong knowledge of SQL, Spark/PySpark, and Python is essential, along with experience working with Apache Iceberg for Lakehouse architectures. Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, EMR, Athena, Glue, Aurora PostgreSQL, Lambda, and others is required.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to mentor engineering teams and communicate complex technical concepts effectively. A background in data modeling, distributed data processing, and cloud architecture principles is also important for success in this role.
Responsibilities Design and lead the development of scalable enterprise data platforms on AWS, including Data Lakes, Lakehouses, and Data Warehouses, ensuring they meet performance, security, and compliance standards.
Architect and implement modern data pipelines for batch and streaming data processing using AWS native services such as EMR, Glue, Lambda, S3, and Athena, optimizing for performance and cost efficiency.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, conducting code reviews, architecture reviews, and fostering best practices in cloud data engineering.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements, translating them into scalable technical solutions that align with strategic objectives.
Implement and optimize Lakehouse architectures utilizing Apache Iceberg, ensuring high data quality, consistency,
and accessibility.
Design and implement orchestration workflows using tools such as Apache Airflow or AWS Step Functions to automate and streamline data processes.
Ensure data security, governance, and compliance by implementing robust IAM policies, encryption, and metadata management strategies.
Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions to enhance data platform capabilities.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform tuning to optimize data pipeline throughput and reliability.
Document architecture, design decisions, and operational procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
