We are hiring for a Manager - Data Architecture & Strategy - Sales Compensation) role with a leading global organization. The role will serve as a key business partner to the Sales and Finance functions, driving data architecture, database development, governance, automation, and systems strategy for sales compensation and commercial reporting. The position offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of Finance, Sales Operations, Data, and Technology, building a scalable single source of truth for commission calculations and sales performance analytics while ensuring strong data integrity, governance, and SOX compliance.

Responsibilities -
1. Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data and compensation analysts by defining goals, allocating resources, and fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
2. Own the complete data platform lifecycle for large and complex datasets, including database build-out, schema design, tool selection, and ongoing maintenance supporting commission calculations and sales reporting.
3. Design and implement automated reconciliation and standardized adjustment processes to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and audit-ready change management.
4. Partner with Business Intelligence and Systems Analytics teams to shape data warehouse architecture, ETL workflows, and scalable infrastructure supporting reliable downstream analytics.
5. Translate complex commercial contracts and deal structures into structured, reusable data constructs that integrate effectively with operational systems and reporting workflows.
6. Develop and communicate sales performance analytics and data-quality metrics for senior leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and root causes.
7. Communicate complex data and architecture concepts in clear,
straightforward language to sales representatives and leadership teams, resolving data-related queries and driving adoption of appropriate processes.
8. Act as the primary point of contact for sales leadership, proactively identifying and resolving data anomalies such as double-counted revenue and incorrect territory mapping before they impact commission calculations.
Requirements -
1. 10+ years of relevant experience in sales compensation, data architecture, data governance, financial systems, sales operations, or a related field, including experience leading and developing high-performing analytical teams.
2. Strong hands-on expertise in database building, schema design, database maintenance, data warehousing, ETL processes, and advanced SQL querying across large and complex data environments.
3. Proven ability to identify, evaluate, and implement tools and technologies that consolidate disparate data sources into a unified single source of truth for commissions, sales performance analytics, and reporting.
4. Practical experience with script-based reconciliation or automation tools such as VBA, Python/Pandas, SQL, Alteryx, or equivalent technologies.
5. Strong experience establishing and enforcing data governance policies, automated reconciliation frameworks, standardized adjustment protocols, territory hierarchies, validation models, and SOX-compliant audit trails.
6. Experience developing reporting, dashboards, and data-health metrics in Power BI, with the ability to present insights, risks, and trends to senior leadership.
7. Exceptional communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain complex database architecture, data issues, and commission logic in plain English to sales representatives, managers,
directors, and senior commercial stakeholders.
