About the Role

Bharath Oxygen is looking for a technically skilled professional to take primary responsibility for gas cylinder testing and inspection, along with cylinder filling and related industrial gas operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the industrial gas industry, with practical knowledge of high-pressure gas cylinders, hydrostatic testing, cylinder inspection, cylinder filling, gas purity testing, pumps, compressors, valves and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Take primary responsibility for gas cylinder testing and inspection.
- Conduct and supervise hydrostatic pressure testing of gas cylinders according to applicable procedures and safety requirements.
- Inspect cylinders for corrosion, dents, bulging, physical damage, leakage, valve condition, markings and other defects.
- Check cylinder identification, test status and suitability before filling.
- Identify and segregate damaged, expired, defective or unsafe cylinders.
- Maintain accurate records of cylinder testing, inspection,



rejection and certification.
- Monitor and assist with industrial gas cylinder filling operations.
- Ensure correct filling pressure/quantity and prevent overfilling or incorrect gas filling.
- Conduct leak checks and visual inspections before and after filling.
- Coordinate with the laboratory for purity and quality testing of gases, including O₂, CO₂, N₂, Argon and other industrial gases.
- Have practical knowledge of pumps, compressors, valves, manifolds, pipelines and pressure equipment.
- Monitor testing and filling equipment and report maintenance requirements.
- Ensure proper cylinder handling, storage and movement within the facility.
- Follow all PPE, fire-safety, gas-safety and plant-safety procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the testing and filling area.
- Coordinate with production, quality and dispatch teams for smooth operations.
- Report gas leakage, equipment abnormalities, safety incidents or maintenance requirements immediately.
- Perform other duties related to cylinder testing, filling and plant operations as assigned.

Qualification

Preferred

B.E in Mechanical Engineering

Other qualifications may also be considered for candidates with appropriate and relevant experience in industrial gas operations, cylinder testing, cylinder filling or related fields.

Candidates with Diploma, ITI or other technical qualifications may be considered if they have strong hands-on experience relevant to the role.

Experience & Skills

- Experience in industrial gas cylinder testing,



filling or gas plant operations is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on knowledge of hydrostatic cylinder testing will be an advantage.
- Basic understanding of pressure, gas handling and cylinder safety.
- Knowledge of gas purity testing and laboratory procedures.
- Knowledge of pumps, compressors, valves and pressure systems.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial/plant environment.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Positive documentation and record-keeping abilities.

Candidate Preference

- Candidates from Chennai are preferred.
- Candidates from Gummidipundi and surrounding areas will be given preference.
- Candidates should be able to conveniently commute to our Gummidipundi facility.
- We are looking for a long-term employee who is interested in growing with the company.
- Candidates with strong practical experience will be considered even if their educational qualification differs from the preferred qualification.

Working Hours

9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Salary

₹30,000 – ₹40,000 per month

Salary is negotiable based on experience, technical knowledge and qualifications.

Future salary increments and career growth opportunities will be provided based on performance, responsibilities and contribution to the company.
