Job Title: Consultant/Sr. Consultant - Fire & Life Safety

Location: Mumbai (preferred)

Reporting to: Senior Head of Audit & Consultancy

Primary Job Purpose:

- Ownership of planning and managing the audit delivery and quality assurance functions to ensure that audit and consultancy products and services are delivered to the highest possible standards.
- Deliver British Safety Council audit products and services in accordance with internal standards and processes.
- Support Senior Head of Audit and Consultancy in the preparation or delivery of strategic activity and projects.
- As Lead, ensure adequate resourcing and delivery of development or other projects where allocated.
- Support the development, maintenance, marketing and sales of audit and consultancy products and services.
- Support provision of appropriate technical support and guidance for sales and operations personnel as required
- Managing delivery partners with respect to recruitment, induction, delivery, standardization and QA.
- This role may involve prolonged travelling and service delivery cover at short notice.

Key Responsibilities:

1. To deliver British Safety Council OH&S; audit and consultancy products / services as required.
2. Support Sales team from technical inputs perspectives while interfacing the potential clients.
3. To support QA review of OH&S; consultancy deliveries as per operational process.
4. To manage the Audit Support inbox, scoping and all queries to and from Sales and Ops teams.
5. To support the root cause investigation and corrective actions, relating to complaints and/or appeals arising from audit and/or consultancy deliveries as directed by Head of Audit and consultancy.
6. To manage the recruitment, induction and ongoing training of audit and consultancy personnel as directed by Senior Head of Audit and Consultancy.

To provide technical support for audit consultancy product development and maintenance projects as directed by Senior Head of Audit and Consultancy.
8. To advise and support (including attending client meetings as appropriate) sales and operational personnel to ensure appropriate scoping and resourcing of audit and consultancy services.
9. Engage with Operations and Associates and make decisions about where support is needed.
10. Support Senior Head of Audit & Consultancy in development of new products.
11. To support the maintenance of the individual products within the portfolio to ensure: (i) they remain technically valid; (ii) opportunities for improvement are identified (iii) delivery methods and working practices are efficient (iv) future revenue streams are maximized.
12. To support the liaison with internal departments to promote product and service awareness and provide technical input to tendering bids as required.
13. To ensure efficiency as well as adequacy of all processes working with internal and external stakeholders including operations, sales and IT. Optimum use of software and IT to achieve this where possible.
14. Maintain professional competency and CPD requirements as appropriate.

Person Specifications:

Skills & Qualifications





- Degree in Fire or Fire & Safety Engineering
- Demonstrable experience of auditing protocols and processes
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety
- Breadth and depth of understanding of the fire safety management
- Industry experience in an operational or leadership capacity
- Evidence of solid IT skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Excel
- Evidence of strong verbal and written (inc. report writing) influencing and communication skills.
- Technical knowledge and experience of a range of safety, health and environmental management principles, tools and techniques.
- Exposure to Behavioral Safety and Safety Culture Change.
- Basic knowledge of Wellbeing.

Experience

- Suitable experience (12-15 years minimum) implementing Fire Safety management systems
- Demonstrable experience of client relationship management
- Experience in a fire safety & OHS consultancy role
- Familiar with NFPA , NBC Codes& Standards.
