Pediatrician / Pediatric Consultant

Role & responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive medical care and consultation for pediatric patients, including newborns, infants, children and adolescents.

- Diagnose and manage common and complex pediatric illnesses and medical conditions.

- Conduct thorough clinical examinations, prepare treatment plans and monitor patient progress.

- Manage OPD and IPD pediatric cases and provide appropriate follow-up care.

- Assess and manage pediatric emergencies and stabilize patients when required.

- Provide appropriate care and monitoring for newborn and neonatal cases as per hospital protocols.

- Prescribe medications, investigations and treatment in accordance with established clinical guidelines and hospital policies.

- Coordinate with other consultants, nursing staff, laboratory, radiology and other departments for comprehensive patient care.

- Maintain accurate and timely medical records, case sheets, prescriptions and discharge summaries.

- Counsel parents/guardians regarding diagnosis, treatment, nutrition, vaccination, preventive healthcare and follow-up.

- Participate in clinical rounds, case discussions, quality initiatives and other hospital activities.

- Ensure adherence to patient safety,



infection-control, NABH and hospital protocols.

- Contribute to the development and improvement of pediatric clinical services within the hospital.

- Maintain qualified and ethical standards while delivering patient-centric care.

Preferred candidate profile

- Qualification: MBBS with DCH or MD/DNB in Pediatrics.

- Candidates with relevant postgraduate qualification and valid medical registration will be preferred.

- Experience in Pediatric OPD/IPD and emergency care preferred.

- Candidates with experience in neonatal and newborn care will have an added advantage.

- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and decision-making skills.

- Good communication skills with the ability to effectively counsel parents and family members.

- Should be compassionate, patient-centric and committed to providing quality pediatric care.

- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

- Knowledge and adherence to NABH standards, infection-control practices and patient-safety protocols.

- Candidates with experience in a multispecialty hospital / established healthcare setup will be preferred.
