Key Responsibilities:
1. Statutory Compliance Management:- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, including:
o Manage activities related to SIPCOT.
o Factories Act, 1948 and State Factory Rules o Labour Laws (Industrial Disputes Act, Payment of Wages Act, Minimum Wages Act, EPF & ESI Acts, Contract Labour Act, etc.)
o Environmental Laws (Air Act, Water Act, Hazardous Waste Rules, E-Waste Rules)
o Pollution Control Board Consent to Establish (CTE) & Consent to Operate (CTO) conditions o Mines Act (if raw material mines are part of operations)
o Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions Code
2. Timely renewal of all statutory licenses and permits, such as:
o Factory License o Pollution Control Certificates o Fire Safety NOC o Boiler Operation Certificates o Weights & Measures Certification o Explosive & Gas Cylinder Storage Permits (if applicable)
3. Legal & Regulatory Liaison:- Act as primary contact for all inspections, audits, and inquiries from:
o Directorate of Industrial Safety & Health o State & Central Pollution Control Boards o Labour Departments
4. Factory Inspectorate o Fire Department & Local Authorities o Draft responses to notices, show-cause letters, or litigation matters in coordination with legal counsel.
5. Documentation & Record-Keeping o Maintain statutory registers and records in prescribed formats.
o Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance returns to respective authorities.
o Maintain an updated Compliance Calendar to track deadlines.
o Keep archives of all licenses, permits, inspection reports,
and government communications.
6. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance o Coordinate with the Safety Officer to ensure compliance with statutory safety standards.
o Monitor steel plant emissions, effluent discharge, and waste disposal in line with PCB norms.
o Ensure adherence to hazardous materials handling and storage guidelines.
o Support periodic internal safety and environmental audits.
7. Compliance Audits & Internal Controls o Conduct internal compliance audits to identify gaps.
o Develop and implement SOPs for legal and statutory compliance.
o Train departmental heads, contractors, and supervisors on compliance requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
§ Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB), Industrial Relations, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
§ Work Experience: 8 – 15 years of experience in compliance management for heavy industries/steel plants.
§ In-depth knowledge of Indian industrial, environmental, and labour laws.
§ Proven track record of handling government inspections without adverse remarks.
Key Skills & Competencies:
§ Strong legal and regulatory knowledge specific to steel manufacturing.
§ Excellent documentation, negotiation, and liaison skills.
§ Proficiency in compliance management tools and MS Office.
§ High integrity and ability to work under tight compliance deadlines.
Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
