Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cloudflare Security Engineer to lead the implementation, configuration, and optimization of Cloudflare services for multiple client legal entities. The candidate will be responsible for onboarding applications to Cloudflare, configuring security controls, implementing WAF policies, managing DNS and traffic routing, and ensuring secure access to internet-facing applications.

The ideal candidate should possess solid expertise in Cloudflare products, web application security, DDoS protection, WAF rule management, SSL/TLS implementations, and application delivery optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Cloudflare Implementation

- Design and implement Cloudflare architecture for client environments.
- Onboard websites, applications, and domains to Cloudflare.
- Configure DNS management and traffic routing through Cloudflare.
- Configure SSL/TLS certificates and encryption policies.
- Implement Cloudflare proxy services and traffic optimization features.

Web Application Firewall (WAF)

- Design and deploy Cloudflare WAF policies.
- Create, test, and fine-tune custom WAF rules.
- Configure Managed Rulesets and OWASP protections.
- Implement geo-blocking, IP reputation rules, and bot protection policies.




- Reduce false positives and optimize WAF performance.

Security Configuration

- Configure DDoS protection mechanisms.
- Implement Zero Trust security controls where applicable.
- Configure Rate Limiting policies.
- Implement Access Control and Identity-based authentication.
- Configure security headers and API protection controls.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

- Monitor Cloudflare security events and alerts.
- Analyze WAF logs and security incidents.
- Troubleshoot application accessibility and performance issues.
- Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and network teams.

Documentation & Governance

- Create implementation and operational documentation.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support security reviews and compliance requirements.
- Provide knowledge transfer to customer technical teams.

Required Experience

- Minimum 5 years in Network Security or Cloud Security.
- Minimum 2-3 years hands-on experience implementing Cloudflare solutions.
- Experience with enterprise WAF deployments.
- Experience supporting production applications behind Cloudflare.
- Experience with security incident response and troubleshooting.
- Experience in terraform
