Kerb Stone
Maintenance • Inspect kerb stones for cracks, displacement, or damage.
- Remove and replace broken or misaligned kerb stones.
- Re-set kerb stones with proper alignment and level.
- Fill joints with mortar/sealant to prevent water ingress.
- Ensure uniform finish and clean edges. 2.
Road Patch
Work • Identify potholes, cracks, or damaged road sections.
- Cut and remove deteriorated material.
- Prepare and compact base.
- Apply patching material (concrete/asphalt) as per specifications.
- Level and finish surface to match existing road profile.
- Cure and check durability before opening to traffic. 3.
Shop Floor Pothole
Repairs • Inspect shop floor for potholes or surface damage.
- Cut and clean damaged sections.
- Fill with appropriate concrete mix.
- Level and smooth finish for safe movement.
- Ensure curing and surface hardness.
- Wall Crack or Damage Repairs • Identify cracks, holes, or damaged wall sections.
- Cut and clean affected areas.
- Apply mortar or plaster to fill gaps.
- Rebuild brickwork if structural damage is present.
- Finish with plastering and painting (if specified). 5.
Brick
Work • Construct or repair walls, partitions, or structures using specified bricks.
- Ensure proper alignment, bonding, and mortar application.
- Maintain plumb, level, and uniform joints.
- Cure brickwork for strength and durability. 6.
Concrete Drain Wall
Plastering • Clean and prepare drain walls.
- Apply cement plaster to protect against erosion and leakage.
- Ensure smooth finish and proper thickness.
- Cure plaster to prevent cracks. 7.
Sewer Chamber
Plastering • Inspect sewer chambers for cracks or damage.
- Clean and prepare surfaces.
- Apply waterproof cement plaster to internal walls.
- Ensure smooth finish and leak-proof sealing.
- Cure plaster for durability.
General
Responsibilities of Masonry Works 1. Site Preparation & Safety • Ensure work area is clean,
protected, and properly barricaded.
- Follow all safety protocols, including use of PPE (helmets, gloves, boots).
- Protect surrounding structures, utilities, and finished surfaces during work. 2.
Material
Handling • Verify quality of cement, sand, bricks, kerb stones, aggregates, and other materials before use.
- Store materials properly to prevent damage or contamination.
- Mix mortar/concrete in correct proportions as per specifications.
- Execution of Work • Carry out kerb stone fixing, road patching, pothole repairs, wall crack filling, brickwork, plastering, and chamber finishing as per scope.
- Maintain proper alignment, level, and finish in all masonry tasks.
- Ensure waterproofing and durability in sewer chamber and drain plastering. 4.
Quality
Assurance • Adhere to project specifications and relevant IS codes/standards.
- Conduct checks for alignment, thickness, curing, and surface finish.
- Rectify defects immediately to maintain workmanship quality.
- Coordination & Reporting • Coordinate with site engineers and supervisors for daily work allocation.
- Report progress, challenges, and material requirements promptly.
- Maintain records of completed work sections for inspection.
Helpdesk Closure
Points • All masonry tasks (kerb stone, patch work, wall crack repairs, brickwork, plastering, chamber finishing) must be raised in the helpdesk system with a clear description and unique ticket ID.
- Mason team completes the assigned work as per scope and updates the helpdesk ticket with progress notes (e.g., “Kerb stone replaced,” “Wall crack plastered”).
- Supervisor inspects the completed work for quality, alignment, durability, and site cleanliness before approving closure.
- Once verified, the helpdesk ticket is closed with completion remarks, date/time of completion, and supervisor sign-off. Preventive maintenance tasks must also be logged and closed for accountability.
